Hahaha I'm going to be ina group of two or three girls :X

I'm okay with sketchy neighborhoods. I'm plenty familiar with bad areas, I just worry with me arriving at night and being at the mercy of a city I'm relatively unfamiliar with.

honestly, you should be fine. walk along lex, its so amazing when its empty. not trying to be an asshole, but when i walked about 50 blocks from union to 86 on the west side at 10 pm and on the east side also, it was pretty much like when i come around, how its so empty and you can freely walk. just stay on lex or 5th, avoid dark lit areas lol, and if you wanna act loud go ahead there arent many people up

alright ill just ask. can someone make a GDC section and allow people to cut X]

yeah once you get to 34th street you are fine

..you do realize its like a 50 block walk from canal to 14th street right?

it took me more than an hour or so to walk from canal to 42nd [for fun]

Yeah I get that it's incredibly far.

By "walk" I meant taking public transportation and just commuting in general. I just wasn't clear.

oh. do not whatsoever ride in the last or first cart of a train. dont depend on busses coming to pick you up. wait by the booths and in the conductor car in the middle. trains are no joke that late down there. lotta homeless and shady peoples :D

Just posted on Facebook by the Green Day fan page... thing

Green Day are playing live in Central Park on Friday, May 22nd as part of ABC's "Good Morning America." If you want to see them, just go to Rumsey Playfield via the 69th street entrance on Fifth Avenue at 6:00am when the park opens to the public. The show is free and open to the public and will take place live during "Good Morning America" from 7:00 - 9:00 a.m. ET.

4am ferry good for you Cheryl ?

More questions:

I don't think it would be the greatest idea for me to be asking random strangers for directions considering the time of day I'll be arriving, how do I get from where the bus drops me to where I need to be aka the venue? It's confusing trying to read the directions backwards.

OK your best bet woud to either just jump in a cab and go all the way to the entrance to the Park

Or you can walk west down Canal Street and jump on the subway uptown.

Most of the trains stop on Canal as you can see on the map where those blue M's in boxes with letters and/or numbers are

You can PM me if you want more help figuring stuff out Barb :)

Yea, what Samantha said, but adding on...take the 6 because that's the only uptown train that stops at both 68th and Canal.

And then it's pretty straightforward after that.. walk to 69th and then past Madison and Park to 5th Avenue.

^ Mhm that sounds good

Of course I'm more keen on taking the 1 train to Columbus Circle and walking along the park east and then uptown

What ave does the 6 stop at ?

Posted

Lexington..so they're both about the same distance away..it might be nicer to walk along the park though.

OR you can cut through the park rather than walk around

though it get hard to navigate since the paths don't just go in straight lines

gah

parents wont let me go, since prom is that night. oh well
