TheBullwinkle Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Mother fuckers. They told me straight up this wasn't true when i asked about it a month ago. That's bullshit. Now we have to complain about their shitty choice in an opening band twice as much.
J'net Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Mother fuckers. They told me straight up this wasn't true when i asked about it a month ago.Well, there could be reasons:Maybe at the time it really wasn't true, and they just got the idea from the rumor and started negotiationsDid they for sure say "not true" or did they just say "not confirmed?" To me, there's a differenceOr maybe they're just liars
gd86arg Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Here's a list of potential better bands that they could have taken as support:GoldfingerLess Than JakeBouncing SoulsBlink 182Sum 41AFIThe BriggsFlogging MollyWhy would people goign to see Green Day want to listen to 30 minutes tedious UK Indie music before they get to see Green Day?Why not any of the number of good pop-punk bands playing music people might actually like?Tour bookers confuse me a lot.Die Toten Hossen
Hayley Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Cool, not really into them though.I just wanna know who's playing in Vancouver
Fuzz Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Well, there could be reasons:Maybe at the time it really wasn't true, and they just got the idea from the rumor and started negotiationsDid they for sure say "not true" or did they just say "not confirmed?" To me, there's a differenceOr maybe they're just liarsThey said "not true". Dirty filthy liars. I think they don't trust me enough had they just said "Not confirmed yet".
belinda jane Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 speaking of tour supports. I have always thought the gaslight anthem would be a good choice.also do australian people know about the law or some rule that if any international touring band plays a concert in australia they must have atleast 1 australian support.i think it came into effect in 2006.so the living end practically have the australian support hands down.fuck yeeesssss.
Tiffx Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 I won't be at any of those shows, but still ... Kaiser Chiefs is not what I was expecting for an opening act.
The Grateful Green Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 who is opening for them before that? i heard....that blink-182 is touring with weezer and athey are both touring with green day to get back into touring. idk just a rumor. but im curious
TotalBasketCase13 Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Thank god they're not gonna be on any of the dates I'm going to. Not a fan.
Jaymee!! Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 haha I remember when this rumor was first posted and Andres confirmed it was a lie.& slaaaaag, they're playing after the OT show. Wonder who's gonna be supporting the first leg of the NA tour?
deathtofalsesushi Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 I won't be at any of those shows, but still ... Kaiser Chiefs is not what I was expecting for an opening act.And that's why it's such a great choice. I mean, I like Jimmy Eat World as much as anyone, but it was kind of a "safe" opener for them.
mad hatter. Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Hmm...I've never fully listened to them, but I'll download a few things--they sound pretty good.EDIT: even though they're apparently not opening at any of the shows I'm attending so far...xD
Supermodel*Robot Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 not playing my date...wonder who is?I dreamed Danger Radio opened & I went wild.
Anja Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Die Toten Hosen Impossible but I wouldn´t mind it I don´t mind the Kaiser Chiefs but they are not one of those bands that blow me away or anything. I´m looking forward to hearing what band will support the european shows.
Guest Billy Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 fuck!they couldn't have a band like the Kings of Leon play with them, because they're running out of dates.blink opening would've been legendary though.
Guest Shangri-La Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 ruby ruby ruby rubayyyy do ya do ya do ya do ya wanna do it do it to meeefuck!they couldn't have a band like the Kings of Leon play with them, because they're running out of dates.blink opening would've been legendary though.double ew.
Kate Austen Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Well, they certainly can't please everyone. But IMO Kaiser Chiefs are much better then crappy bands like New Found Glory/Simple Plan/Blink 182/ AFI (I say AFI, because IMO they haven't been good or relevant in a long time).Honestly, can you imagine having Blink 182 fans at the same concert? Ugh, have fun standing next to bros.
Guest Billy Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 ruby ruby ruby rubayyyy do ya do ya do ya do ya wanna do it do it to meeeat this point of the show, in reference to my Beatles death, i will travel to the parking lot and, "he blew his brains in a car."i could do it Saint Jimmy-esque, but there are no bays in Pittsburgh; just three rivers.double ew.as much as indie is my favorite genre, i cannot stand the Kaiser Chiefs.mainly because a Kaiser is a Chief, so the name is just Chief Chief.ie. But I really can't stand their music, especially their fans. But ah well. It's pretty obvious that they can't please everyone. I think almost every reply in this thread has been conflicting with someone else. Good stuff.
