pooldude256 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 So does this mean the only way to get Lights Out and Hearts Collide is to get them with the single?Or through your favorite file-sharing website/application.
Juan Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 So does this mean the only way to get Lights Out and Hearts Collide is to get them with the single?or PM'ing Beth
Robin105 Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 I can't wait to hear these songs. I preordered it from Itunes the first day we heard about the new tracks
Trina Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 So so so excited about this!!! Really ridiculously awesome songs to cover! One problem: Someone has to share as soon as they can please! I don't have the money to buy this version and I need to hear these Mannnn!! I really cannot wait!Yesss!!!(I do hope Drama Queen is released in the future though - maybe as a future b-side as the OP said.)So does this mean the only way to get Lights Out and Hearts Collide is to get them with the single?Wait - I know you probably didn't mean Hearts Collide is out yet...But I still have to ask...Is it?!?!?!That's why Elvis isn't one of my favorite musicians. Yes, I understand his contributions to music by popularizing then-unknown songs by black artists (even John Lennon said that without Elvis, there would be no Beatles), but he didn't write his own songs. That's an important factor in me liking an artist. Paul McCartney writes his own songs (and like Lennon, grew up listening to Elvis.) So does Tom Petty (another one of my favorite artists, who I went to see last year instead of my 8th grade graduation) and Billie Joe writes powerful political messages from the heart (a favorite of mine would be "Wake Me Up When September Ends" because it's a very personal song with a lot of meaning in it.) Hell, do Miley Cyrus and the JoBros write their own songs? I'm not comparing crappy teenbop Disney pop to Elvis, I'm just saying (we all know who'd win that argument.)At least Elvis had a good voice right... (and then there's Roy Orbison whose voice is amazing.)Haha, anyways... back on topic...This post is actually full of win especially the bold part!!!
Ingrid Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 I think somebody mentioned earlier that they might be live tracks; but as far as we know, they've only played "A Quick One" live out of those, right?
Marie_GD Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 i wonder which are the tracks on the japanese one thats in amazon.........The Japanese version will only contain one bonus track, Lights Out.
Teenage Kicks! Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Mannnn i don't even remember what the cover of that who song sounded like. And I heard it live.
Leauwie Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Hopefully those songs will be available on the CD-/deluxe CD-editon, because i'm not gonna pay twice when I want the CD AND those bonus tracks..
brownie Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 im familiar with 3 of those songs, hope they sound great
Zalex Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Awesomeness. 2 more weeks until 21st CB, yay! 15 days ;D
thisisAB Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 15 days ;D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On topic, I'm excited to hear these covers! I won't buy them, cause I don't have an iTunes account, but I'll definately download them. I'm most excited about the Elvis one.
perfectpitchrob Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 Lights out still hasn't come to itunes yet, unless it's coming paired with hearts collide on the 8th, but who knows...
amy_runs Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I though you were me for a second there... I was like, I thought I changed my ava! And I did. It was weird. I apologize.
Dylan. Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I love the picks. I've actually been listening to them and everyone of them except the Elvis one sounds like something Green Day would pick to cover.
Guest Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 i think i'd only want "A quick one while he's away" and "That's alright Mama"
Trina Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 These songs fit so damn well for the album and stuff too!Oh, I'm so excited for these! Cannot wait to hear them sing "cello cello cello" Watched the Tubbies performance of A quick one... yesterday - How amazing!
deathtofalsesushi Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I love how they picked a Social D cover, among other legends like Dylan, the Who, and Elvis. It's great recognition
Kimpsu Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Those four will probably be either great covers or the worst ones in history of music.
emmaILGD! Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I never thought I'd see/hear Green Day covering Elvis.
