Eirik Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 ^AgreedEverytime I drive the bus through the city and I´m bored, I count the starbucks there. And there are waaay more than 30 in San Francisco :oI don't think there's a single one in this entire country.
Tiffx Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Yeah original songs would've been better. But i'll be enjoying the album anyway, I mean we get 18 new original songs.
Kryssi. Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 It's just nice though, them putting those extra songs on there for us
Ally Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 just ordered it from itunes, i'm mad...now i have the deluxe version ordered on itunes and the standard from play...i've officially gone mad...i never get two of the same album!
fashionvictim86 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I never even heard the original of those songs...unless I did and didn't know the title......I don't really care for the Who that much though but I'll give it a whirl because it's a Green Day cover.just ordered it from itunes, i'm mad...now i have the deluxe version ordered on itunes and the standard from play...i've officially gone mad...i never get two of the same album!Psh, I have like 10 copies of each album. Never know when one will get stratched or shatter (like my original Dookie did). It's cheap to pick them up when insane people are selling them for pennies at yard sales.

Foxboro Hot Tubs Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 just one word that comes to my mind considering these covers: AWESOMEcan't wait to hear that ... woooohoooo²
apocalipstick Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Sweet. I'll probably try to download them illegally...But man, I hate Social Distortion.
Luci_Minority Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I like Dylan's "Like a rolling stone"!!!!! I want to listen their cover
xVanessa86x Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I'm so excited for "like a rolling stone" & "thats alright mama"I'm curious to how the who cover will sound though I agree. I mean to mean when I saw That's Alright Mama I was like they are following in the Beatles footsteps haha The Beatles did a cover of that song and it was amazing so I think Green Day will do excellent as well =)
xaristotlex Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Eh. Well, it's nice that we can hear GD play more songs, anyway...but I'm glad that I didn't preorder because this is kind of a rip-off. B-sides>>>>>cover songs, in my opinion. At least there are some people here who are excited about the covers; I probably won't even (illegally) download them right away.
Beatlesfan94 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 And interestingly enough, Elvis never wrote any of his songs. None of them. That's insane, considering the amount of songs he sang. That's why Elvis isn't one of my favorite musicians. Yes, I understand his contributions to music by popularizing then-unknown songs by black artists (even John Lennon said that without Elvis, there would be no Beatles), but he didn't write his own songs. That's an important factor in me liking an artist. Paul McCartney writes his own songs (and like Lennon, grew up listening to Elvis.) So does Tom Petty (another one of my favorite artists, who I went to see last year instead of my 8th grade graduation) and Billie Joe writes powerful political messages from the heart (a favorite of mine would be "Wake Me Up When September Ends" because it's a very personal song with a lot of meaning in it.) Hell, do Miley Cyrus and the JoBros write their own songs? I'm not comparing crappy teenbop Disney pop to Elvis, I'm just saying (we all know who'd win that argument.)At least Elvis had a good voice right... (and then there's Roy Orbison whose voice is amazing.)Haha, anyways... back on topic...
pooldude256 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 It's good to see GD covering a bunch of classic rockers. I got the regular iTunes version, which only has the Dylan and Elvis covers. I will download the others
Beatlesfan94 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Here's The Rolling Stones version of "Like a Rolling Stone". Pretty good actually: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FT9Qy4gy4RoI listened to The Beatles' version of "That's All Right (Mama)". Also very good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91jEHTOZUjU
MusicalDeviant Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Disappointing. I feel stupid for spending my money on the pre-order.Me too. Maybe there's enough material for a b-side album. So they're withholding the true bonus tracks so that they can get even more money out of the fans. Or maybe not.
MusicalDeviant Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Yeah, gays are supposed to bring good taste to an area.A-fucking-men.
thenextsexpistol_mak Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 i wonder which are the tracks on the japanese one thats in amazon.........
Ingrid Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Actually, after relistening to all the songs (never heard the Social Distortion one before), my face is more like this --> I know a lot of people would prefer B-sides, but it's hard for me to grieve the loss of songs I never heard, so I'm just gonna be happy that we're getting bonus tracks at all.I like all four of the songs, and I'm really really looking forward to this!
DarrenDookie Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 So does this mean the only way to get Lights Out and Hearts Collide is to get them with the single?
