And that, I do believe, is precisely the point. Why come out swinging with things that have already been said or done? I've never seen something like that before. If you're gonna make a bang, why not a loud one?

from recent personal experience, the risky approach to things isn't always good.

Of course it's not always good. Otherwise, it wouldn't be risky would it? lol I'm not being smart, I'm just saying that if you want to go for a powerful statement, sometimes risks have to be taken. Chances are outside this forum, no one will notice this, or care. But I admire them for being brave enough to say something that bold, considering how bold the KKK are.

Oh wow, I didn't expect that at all. It's kinda creepy. They've got some guts with some of the lyrics and that, don't they? xD

Question: Where is this video?

My god, that's freaky but collio I'm sure this is going up on GDA under the random facts? XD

it's a bit risque.

lol... god forbid a rock band do something risque.

they should have had a giant rainbow and kittens covering all the album art, so as to not offend people.

I don't see how this would be offending, I honestly think this is Billie Joe making up for saying "Nigger" in American Eulogy

That's odd, I wonder who's idea it was to put that on there.

That just looks like a bloob with the blue lining around it

i'm sorry if i misspoke or you misunderstood about that; i know they're not condoning murdering, but someone can misinterpret this.

i know it's an anti-racism idea, but that's not the best way to do that.

it's a bit risque.

Oh yeah I agree, risque is right! I think it's a good thing though, sometimes it takes a powerful image to get you thinking - it certainly worked here looking at the length of this thread :D. People can misinterpret almost anything, I think it's better to take that risk and make a real statement than just be safe all the time.

It was kind of off-putting, but I think it makes a statement- which is what Green Day seems to like to do.

I'm not really sure what to make of it, to be honest.

I think most of our reactions show what kind of people we are. Even though Klu Klux Klan members spew hate from their mouths, and did atrocious things (such as beating blacks to death and hanging them) - we still have trouble with an image that depicts the hanging of one of them.

It's a knee-gut reaction. But I def think it says something about us - how much better we are then those kind of terrible people. It's more the act of hanging that disturbs us (because we see what a terrible thing it is). I guess that was my problem with this at first. My eyes would totally skip past the KKK member, and I would think about the hanging aspect. Oh, and I'm not saying those that are okay or like this picture are terrible people. Not at all, I def think it evokes a strong message. The image did it's purpose, and got people thinking.

I think that's a really great way to put it, and you stated it very eloquently as well.

I agree. I'm glad Green Day has the balls to do this and not worry who they'll offend.
