Drink Drank Punk Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 People will call them sellouts anyway.Yeah that's inevitable. And Mike's hair looks kind of lame...not that that matters or anything.
soundbarrier4 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 People will call them sellouts anyway.Just like people will say they make shitty videos.
GTI Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 It's from the MTV blog Beth posted xDThanks!Just read the whole thing, very well written.
Trina Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Can anybody rip it or whatever? I don't understand :(:(
Dai. Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Not one of their best ones at all though, its pretty simple (except for the fire near the end). But cool.
Velocity Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 And the video's simplicity carries over to the album. After all, as the first single of a huge album, this thing could've been a special-effects enhanced, green-screen infused trainwreck. But instead, it's powerful and straightforward: Here's Green Day. They rock. Watch them do so. When the band is this good and the music so fist-pumpingly raucous, there's really nothing else you need to say. This is so true.I mean, it's a performance video, what was everyone think it was going to be? This video actually exceeded my expectations, and while I don't love it, I think it's just fine for the kind of song KYE is: simple, energetic, and to the point.

Trina Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Yeah that's inevitable. And Mike's hair looks kind of lame...not that that matters or anything. I laughed so hard! SeriouslyPeople stop fucking complaining about this video, noone wants to hear it. At least you got to see it!!Somebody come to the rescue and post it pleease
**nobodylikesyou** Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 ^Thank you I agree. It seems pretty lame of green day to spend the millions of dollars we give to them through the purchase of their merchandise and such on crappy videos.
bass boy Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CarnageXB Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I love the burning men. Anyone have a HD Download?
annie Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I'm not terribly impressed, but don't hate it either. Kind of how I feel about the song. Its just okay.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Thanks!Just read the whole thing, very well written.guess I should read it. Green Day overload... (is there such a thing??)
Drink Drank Punk Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Yes the video is simple but I'm assuming they payed around a million dollars for this music video. I kind of think the point of music videos is for them to be flashy and somewhat elaborate. Simple performances are why people go to see them live. That's just my opinion though.
Rezurgam Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I don't think you can rip videos from the MTV website, so you guys are probably going to have to wait or something.
Nobody_Likes_You Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 What the fuck was that?Nothing happened. Even the fire was anti-climactic. At least with Samuel Bayer stuff happened: Their movements sped up or slowed down. There was explosions of slime, and a bleeding flag. There was a conveyor belt with different scenery and people. There was the guys playing mutliple characters. There was a war sceen, with actors and such. There was the fucking St. Jimmy video with actual shit happening.Like the song, this video kind of sucked. Majorly.totally agree
M3G4N Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I'm a bit biased, as it's my personal opinion that Green Day can do no wrong from here on out, but I'll add my two cents anyway. Performance based videos are ALWAYS better, IMO. Bayer's story videos always seemed somewhat corny and disconnected from the song, so I'm glad they didn't go that route with this one. The colors and visuals were awesome and complemented the song. The song was simple, the video was simple. It's still fucking Green Day, and it gave me that warm fuzzy feeling I get whenever they release something new, so it's win all around for me.
Trina Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I love the burning men. Anyone have a HD Download?Yeah, please anyone post any links!!! That's just my opinion though.I like simple performance videos. they're my favorite kind. Just because it's not your cup of tea, doesn't mean it was a waste of money....
Sanah Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 AHHH.THAT WAS FANATBULOUSLY FUCKING AMAZING.I am a hella happy camper. It's so great to see them again.
Drink Drank Punk Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I like simple performance videos. they're my favorite kind. Just because it's not your cup of tea, doesn't mean it was a waste of money....1.) Tea is amazing. I think I'll go make some.2.) I'm not saying it's bad or anything. It's just not what I would have done if I were them. I liked videos more like Walking Contradiction , that's probably my favorite.hella
Trina Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 ^Thank you I agree. If you were saying that to me then: yay for non-complaining Green Day fans!! I don't think you can rip videos from the MTV website, so you guys are probably going to have to wait or something.I bet there's a way - there's gotta be!Seriously I know i'm whining - but at least it's about wanting to see the video, not about how shit it is!! Is there any kind of proxy we can use to view it (I've tried some...mtv don't seem to like proxys)

Rezurgam Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I'm going to have to somewhat disagree with the simplicity argument. Yeah sure there was basically only one scene of Green Day rocking out but all of the camera angles just really make music video go away from simplicity. Maybe if there were less camera angles and camera changes, yes it would simple. As it is right now though, ehhh not so much.

I wasn't too enthused about the camera work.
