I love when the music video is Green Day playing instead of like their When I Come Around video for example.

Nothing happened. Even the fire was anti-climactic.

At least with Samuel Bayer stuff happened: Their movements sped up or slowed down. There was explosions of slime, and a bleeding flag. There was a conveyor belt with different scenery and people. There was the guys playing mutliple characters. There was a war sceen, with actors and such. There was the fucking St. Jimmy video with actual shit happening.

Like the song, this video kind of sucked. Majorly.

Wow, wtf? Green Day deserves a better music video than this. There was so much potential in this video but it was hindered by the lame editing and camera switching. Even the part with the fire was not as epic as it could've been. I prefer the CBS version over this. So lame. -_-

Exactly. Basketball footage broke up what was otherwise a pretty monotonous string of lame camera angles.

And the production values compared to the American Idiot videos sucked. Those were grittier videos with depth and actual activity going on.

it's great that its green day, but just because it's simply green day in the video doesn't make it great. People are expecting great things from them so why not expect more. it's understandable that people are bitching because they want green day to give there best, and that wasn't their best in my opinion.

I like to see them walking around doing stuff then have it cut back to them playing. They just played straight through this video. no silly antics or anything either. just a fancy way of filming a live show with cheap effects added in.
