Guest Billy Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Exactly. Billy's making it seem like anyone with two arms and legs can sit down and play the drums, or anyone with two hands can play the bass. It's certainly not that simple.anyone can play pop-punk bass, i'm almost positive that if i decided to start to play bass i could compete with bassists in today's music.drums are different on the other hand, they're not insanely hard to pick up yet they're not easy. i'm merely debating the play skill of a musician, relax.
Starbug Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 i have actually seen them live. he plays better live than he does on the albums. i won't argue anymore.i'm not presenting my opinions as facts, i'm defending my statements. if you can't make a statement that can't attack or justify your own claims, then quit crying. i'm not going to make my statements weak so they appear subjective to you.WIN! lol naw, I'm not arguing. Just debating. I don't take it so seriously as to let it affect my blood pressure, and yeah, if anyone else was saying it, I might react differently I'm not changing your mind, and you ain't changing mine. And that's fine
TheBullwinkle Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 I've tried drumming just on random objects around me in a pattern. Its hard, and tiring. I can't imagine trying to drum on actual drums, and get beats and sounds and such right on a consistent level. Tre's drumming is art. Or sex. It depends on the song really. However, his drumming induces musical orgasms. He flies. I'm surprised his drumsticks don't burst into flame by the end of the set.I play drums, and it's definitely not something that just magically happens; you don't suddenly pull perfect rhythm and beats out of your ass. It takes time, and it's not an easy task. Tré is incredible, IN MY OPINION.
Juan Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Hey, RHCP is one of my favorite bands. I like them. But the only member that really stands out, to me, is Flea. He's a brilliant bassist, one of the best in fact. I just don't see anything remarkable about the drums, though. But then, I just feel the song, I don't usually study it. Well, I study the lyrics lolChad pretty much stays in the pocket, he's pretty good live though
Guest Billy Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Just like your underdeveloped genitalia.haha, personal attacks because you can't defend a statement.my essay is becoming more real with each post.I've tried drumming just on random objects around me in a pattern. And that's fine haha, i wouldn't count that one as a win. i'm quit because some people can't under a simple statement and find it necessary to mix fact with fiction. then make personal attacks when they can't defend their statements anymore.

Really? I'm a fucking Lit major. Do you really think I don't understand the difference?I love how you're trying to trying to present my response as me arguing that your opinions are wrong, rather than what I actually said, that being that, and let me make this clear, your opinions are just that: O-fucking-pinions. Not facts. So stop treating everyone else's opinions as inaccuracies. Christ!

rootbeersoup Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Just like your underdeveloped genitalia.LOL at angsty forum usersOf course I was born with natural musical talent----My whole family is. We all sing or play instruments. So my opinion may be flawed given that I was blessed with rhythm and melody. So playing various instruments came along very easily for me.
Starbug Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Chad pretty much stays in the pocket, he's pretty good live thoughNot seen them live. Hell, I'm pretty easy to semi-impress on drums. I love them that much, drums thrill me. But yeah, I don't get any kind of remarkability from Chad :/I think the Foo Fighter's drummer is decent.

Christ!calm down, you're the one trying to talk me down. i really don't care what you study in college; yes, you're the one not understanding. you flip out when people don't agree with you either. everyone is entitled to their own opinion, i was merely stating facts. just because you don't agree with me doesn't justify you bitching at me or give you the right to think that i'm "treating everyone else's opinions as inaccuracies." i think everyone deserves an opinion. i'm just stating facts about music, which you fail to understand. so i'm sorry my opinion and facts don't agree with what you say or believe. But he's a fantastic front man
