Guest Billy Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 you cant deny that billie joes lyrics and singing ability is such a treat. he's very gifted.and tre COULD be an amazing drummer if their genre was different.Mike Dirnt is just an average bassist honestly. Nothing special.haha, you don't want to hear my opinion on Billie's singing and lyrics.i've never seen Tre play anything outside of punk, maybe if they showcased a solo or played a different genre for just one song i could see.until then, he remains average. you're right about Mike though.Well, I've got this weird thing called "my own opinion", and this wacky concept leads me to believe that Tré is an incredible drummer, and Mike is an amazing bassist, and Billie... well, Billie's alright. By the way, Chad Smith sucks. Every RHCP song sounds the same. In my opinion, of course.well, it's just musianship. i'm not basing this if i like the song or not, i'm just talking about musicianship. Chad Smith is amazingly talent and can write master pieces. he's probably the most educated and talented drummer in a long time for music. he plays with a special style that barely anyone can master. RHCP are good sometimes, but they have some bad songs. you're entitled to your opinion, but i was just talking about musicianship.
Juan Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 In my opinion, of course.and that's the whole point, it's subjective
MusicalDeviant Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 He definitely does. He gets to go crazy again. we thank the lord for that.
TheBullwinkle Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Ohhhh, that is definitely the truth.Whaaaat? Tre is an average drummer? Absolutely not. I think Joey Jordinson is incredible, but how can you argue that Tre is just an average drummer? Wow. No way do I see that, and never have. You tell him!

I, however, do not in that reality. Did I say reality? I meant pipe dream. Yes, that's what I meant.

I think Joey Jordinson is incredible, but how can you argue that Tre is just an average drummer? Wow. No way do I see that, and never have.well, Tre plays the basic same patterns. as someone else said, if it were a different genre maybe i could see.jazz drummers are fantastic musicians, if Tre would play some jazz songs or something maybe i could see.Tre is slightly better than average, i was a bit harsh with that. until i see him play a drum solo or watch him play a different genre it's unable to be seen.

Period, dang it lol And there are all kinds of subjective views on 'musicianship' Tre plays with passion, they all do what they do well, he's taken classes, studied in Cuba, so you can't say he's not schooled. Not to mention, he was a kid and had the drums thrust upon him. I'd say he's done pretty damn good for himself The only outstanding musician in RHCP is Flea.
MusicalDeviant Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 I HAVE SUCH A BONER FOR YOU TONIGHT!Thank you. Thank you. (*bows*).

I meant pipe dream. Yes, that's what I meant.ugh, you're not understanding any of these and i doubt you have the ability to see it. i am talking about musicianship here, not about if a song is good or not. it's pure musianship nothing more nothing else. you can clearly tell if a song or group has musicianship based on their songs, and i'm basing it upon their songs. i'm a musician and i know plenty of muscians, it's a common known fact that Green Day has nothing outstanding. they're not bad, they're just not going to create a musicial wonder that awes musicial geniuses and thinkers across the world.
MusicalDeviant Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 haha, you don't want to hear my opinion on Billie's singing and lyrics.haha....No. I don't.

Yeah, you wait til you see that octopus man in action Seriously, his arms and hands are moving so fast, it's amazing. I was mesmerized during his little drum breaks. And I'm really into drummers, I notice them nine times outta ten. And he's a great one.
Juan Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Bass Boy needs to give Mike lessons.spelling lessons

I don't recall my response including any mention on specifically whether or not their music is any good or anything of that nature. In fact, all I said was for you to stop presenting your opinions as facts. Though, it teaches us all something: if you're too ass-headed to understand a simple response, how can we trust your opinion on music?
TheBullwinkle Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 You've not seen them live, have you? Yeah, you wait til you see that octopus man in action Seriously, his arms and hands are moving so fast, it's amazing. I was mesmerized during his little drum breaks. And I'm really into drummers, I notice them nine times outta ten. And he's a great one.Exactly. Billy's making it seem like anyone with two arms and legs can sit down and play the drums, or anyone with two hands can play the bass. It's certainly not that simple.
Guest Billy Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Billie's singing is unique, he's a great vocalist, and his lyrics are awesome. Bass Boy needs to give Mike lessons.LOL!
Drink Drank Punk Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 spelling lessonsIs mike a bad speller too?
rootbeersoup Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Exactly. Billy's making it seem like anyone with two arms and legs can sit down and play the drums, or anyone with two hands can play the bass. It's certainly not that simple.Well it ain't hard
Juan Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Is mike a bad speller too?I don't know, but i'd be hilarious to see mike all full of hate, how that, yes "hatful"
Starbug Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 ugh, you're not understanding any of these and i doubt you have the ability to see it. i am talking about musicianship here, not about if a song is good or not. it's pure musianship nothing more nothing else. you can clearly tell if a song or group has musicianship based on their songs, and i'm basing it upon their songs. i'm a musician and i know plenty of muscians, it's a common known fact that Green Day has nothing outstanding. they're not bad, they're just not going to create a musicial wonder that awes musicial geniuses and thinkers across the world.I beg to differ *sniff* They've inspired me, and countless others, to pick up a guitar, or a bass, or drumsticks. And the common man's opinion is a hell of a lot more important than any musical geniuses out there, who probably wouldn't understand the feeling you get when lyrics hit you right in the heart. I'm a musician as well. And I can see them for what they are. No, Billie is no BB King, Tre is no Keith Moon, Mike is no Les Claypool, but not everybody can be that. They are Green Day, and they are brilliant And I am admittedly very biased on this subject
Guest Billy Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 You've not seen them live, have you? And I'm really into drummers, I notice them nine times outta ten. And he's a great one.i have actually seen them live. he plays better live than he does on the albums. i won't argue anymore.I'm sorry. I don't recall my response including any mention on specifically whether or not their music is any good or anything of that nature. In fact, all I said was for you to stop presenting your opinions as facts. Though, it teaches us all something: if you're too ass-headed to understand a simple response, how can we trust your opinion on music?i'm not presenting my opinions as facts, i'm defending my statements. if you can't make a statement that can't attack or justify your own claims, then quit crying. i'm not going to make my statements weak so they appear subjective to you.
TheBullwinkle Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Well it ain't hardJust like your underdeveloped genitalia.
MusicalDeviant Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Exactly. Billy's making it seem like anyone with two arms and legs can sit down and play the drums, or anyone with two hands can play the bass. It's certainly not that simple.I've tried drumming just on random objects around me in a pattern. Its hard, and tiring. I can't imagine trying to drum on actual drums, and get beats and sounds and such right on a consistent level. Tre's drumming is art. Or sex. It depends on the song really. However, his drumming induces musical orgasms. He flies. I'm surprised his drumsticks don't burst into flame by the end of the set.
Starbug Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 sure, i'm not going to argue about his lyrics now. yeah, i mean i heard Tre was taking drum lessons. i'd like to see something amazing from him come out of the new album. who wouldn't? haha, i'm not going to argue with you about the fine musicianship in the Chili Peppers because i like you. otherwise i would have to defend them. LOL!Hey, RHCP is one of my favorite bands. I like them. But the only member that really stands out, to me, is Flea. He's a brilliant bassist, one of the best in fact. I just don't see anything remarkable about the drums, though. But then, I just feel the song, I don't usually study it. Well, I study the lyrics lol
