RebelofSuburbia Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I can't believe how ignorant some people are.
norcalgreendayfan Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 plus, tre would probably do something to get himself banned from not only the country, but the entire hemisphere.....some places just dont dig male nudity, marijuana and public misconduct....not to mention alcohol
petrina_678 Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 honesty it really depends which part of the middle east! not everywhere is a war zone, take for example Abu Dhabi, which is relatively safe and very modern . People can be so ignorant really.
deathtofalsesushi Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Obviously they should schedule a show there right after one in Anaheim
norcalgreendayfan Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 honesty it really depends which part of the middle east! not everywhere is a war zone, take for example Abu Dhabi, which is relatively safe and very modern . People can be so ignorant really.True and there are some places over there that are a little more tolerant of alcohol consumption now that I think about it and I'm sure there are some fans out there I mean with all the oil workers out there orginally from other parts of the world I imagine some of their kids would be Green Day fans
Menna's Inferno Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 not to mention alcoholJust to let you know, pretty much everyone in the Middle East gets drunk.honesty it really depends which part of the middle east! not everywhere is a war zone, take for example Abu Dhabi, which is relatively safe and very modern . People can be so ignorant really.I actually think that's where they'd go if they ever came to the Middle East. Everyone goes to Dubai, so they probably would too.
norcalgreendayfan Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Just to let you know, pretty much everyone in the Middle East gets drunk.I actually think that's where they'd go if they ever came to the Middle East. Everyone goes to Dubai, so they probably would too.Yeah I knew that which is why i said in my last post there are places over there that are more tolerant of Alcohol and drinking and where people do get pretty drunk, I know I got pretty drunk when I was out there visiting Jordan and the Palestinian Territories in 2000 so I know that it does occur in places over there and I was mainly thinking of Saudi Arabia when I mentioned about there being no Alcohol although I am not sure how much comes in illegally and through other methods
Menna's Inferno Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 Yeah I knew that which is why i said in my last post there are places over there that are more tolerant of Alcohol and drinking and where people do get pretty drunk, I know I got pretty drunk when I was out there visiting Jordan and the Palestinian Territories in 2000 so I know that it does occur in places over there and I was mainly thinking of Saudi Arabia when I mentioned about there being no Alcohol although I am not sure how much comes in illegally and through other methodsSA is a very religious place. I would not want to go there, and I doubt Green Day would either. And by the way, I commented on your first post before I read the last one. x.
norcalgreendayfan Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 SA is a very religious place. I would not want to go there, and I doubt Green Day would either. And by the way, I commented on your first post before I read the last one. x.Yeah SA is too much to the extreme for me even I'd be bored there and I agree with you in doubting Green Day would go there and I know you did but its cool no worries

The Qur'an that is. I don't know, I'd feel weird.I think they'd get banned if they ever perform there. If they even let them in, that is.All right, great =]
norcalgreendayfan Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Yeah, and they do everything by the book. The Qur'an that is. If they even let them in, that is.All right, great =]Yeah I know they do which I dont agree with especially since I'm not muslim but any holy book is not meant to be interpreted literally and your right they probably would would get banned if they even would bother to let the in. If Green Day were ever to go to the Middle East I think they would go to Abu Dhabi, Lebanon, possibly Jordan or Egypt since those in my mind are the most likely place plus of course thats all depending if there would be enough interest for them to be able to put on a show there
Supernova* Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I think the Middle East would like Green Day, especially their songs:- American Infidel- Muhammad of Suburbia- Boulevard of Blown-up BodiesJust 3 of the favourites.
Billie1 Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 some people here are really idiots,im so sorry to say, read what you write before you send the replys...well i'm from israel(which is in the middle east),and they have many many many many fans here, and many other bands came to israel and will come to israel but green day haven't done it,and it seems like they're not gonna change it soon. im asking..why?many famous band were here, and they have many fans here so...
Sharmellow Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I doubt it, with war going on and all. And their fan base there isn't that huge.Maybe in the future some day.

I know all of you out side of the US that live in countries that Green Day normally doesnt stop in would love if they did but unfortunately that does not happen

NickD Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 weren't they were banned from Australia about 12 years ago for something stupid for a little while? i'm almost certain they would be banned before evenplaying a show in the middle east, :-\ and i just wanna let you know that american idiot sold 30,000 copies here.(its not "WOW" for you,but in small country like israel when album of american band sold 30,000 copies in 1 year its a real success ).and im pretty sure that if they'll come to israel for a concert, around 50K people will come, for sure.you think more people would show up at a show than buy the music??
saurus Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 They should not play in Egypt. Only the UK. Only the south of England. Only in London.I do concur.
