My guess is you don't have the newest version of quicktime player. I am not home now so I can't get a better player. As soon as I get home I will edit it :)

Ahh, my first impressions where right. Not liking Know Your Enemy at all, annoying, repetitive and his voice sounds awful. Hopefully, and judging by the B side, the rest of the album will make up for it.

Here's my theory on Know Your Enemy:

It's a good song, but I would have never chosen it as a single. It reminds me of both 'Jaded' and 'Jinx,' because both songs are good, but are even better when played with their counterpart (Brainstew/Haushinka). KYE sounds like a song that should have come after a much bigger song, and cut down to around 1 minute and 30 seconds. You will always hear Brainstew on the radio, or even Brainstew/Jaded, but you would never hear just Jaded. It just wouldn't have the same effect on the listener. Anyone agree with me?

From what I've heard I don't think this is one of the best songs on the album. I think they may have chose it because it is quite catchy and anthemic and the masses may hook on to it, I dunno. I agree with you DJ that it's a good song but from what I've heard of the other songs I can't get Peacemaker and East Jesus Nowhere out of my mind, I think they're going to be amazing.

all these people asking for links to download the song......why not just buy it?! its 67p on play. you won't find a better deal than that. although it is only one song.

I see where you coming from and tend to agree. I love the song - it makes me feel bouncy and I'm SO happy to have a new Green Day song. But I can't help but wonder how I would have felt about it if it had just come out as part of the album. My guess is other songs would have had more emotional impact on me. I really love KYE on some levels, but I think I might end up loving others more because they hit on all (or at least more) levels.

I've been thinking that KYE sounds like it should be connected to a song that follows it. To me, the main thing that kind of jars about this song is how abruptly it ends, but then I thought, maybe on the album it will seque into the next song. However, from what I've heard about ¡Viva la Gloria! (and yes, I'm one of those weird, surreal, freakish, psycho, bizarre, useless idiots who hasn't listened to any of the unreleased songs yet) - it doesn't sound like KYE would segue into ¡VlG! For those of you who have heard them all, would that make sense?

Having said all this, it's entirely possible that KYE will be one of those songs that I end up loving the most. I can't always go by my initial feelings about a song, so I'll just wait and see what the future brings.

It's climbing pretty quickly up the UK itunes chart, it was #21 when I went to work this morning and it's now at #14. Not bad since it's only been out for a day and competing against songs that have been out for 5 days.

and like for a few hours before it ...theres only Green day related Programs on....
