Bastard of 1967 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 You need an iTunes account and credit card to buy it. Don't see it on Amazon MP3 though.I still don't know why it's 1.29....thats pretty dumb. Warner trying to capitalize I guess.iTunes' new agreements with all the major labels (not just Warner) prices a lot of the hot-ticket items at $1.29 a track now....in return you get a 256Kbps sampling rate for better quality, and it's DRM-free.It's not just Warner and it's not just Green Day, it's all of 'em. There's still a lot of 0.99 content available, but you'll find that a lot of it are older items....usually not current stuff from the hottest acts. Much of that is priced at the highest tier now.
NowhereBound Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 there were alot of excited people talking about the song. lol i guess so
Roxy. Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 does anyone know anything about bonus tracks? sorry, I just don't wanna read through all these pages...

pooldude256 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Oh well :/ I can't buy it then. I've got a credit card, but no iTunes. Thanks for answering me, though No problem. You can download iTunes and get an account for free, though. But then again...that depends if you can get iTunes in your country (not sure where you're from).
Starbug Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Sweet. The deluxe edition is also on iTunes. Comes with 2 bonus tracks plus 2 more if you pre-order. Also a digital booklet. All for $14.99. Hmm..It an actual physical cd they send you? Or is it a download thing? I guess it's a download thing, since it's got a 'digital' booklet... whatever that is...Well then I apologise if I was ever mean to you when you didn't deserve it, I must have been in a bad mood or something lol no worries Thanks for apologizing, not many people do. You're moving over to the cool side
pooldude256 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Holy Crap! How did it get from 36-60 pages just from early this morning?!? The single came out....we have kinda been discussing it
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 *has a feeling what she's talking about* Jk Uhhhhmwhat?
NowhereBound Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 The single came out....we have kinda been discussing it i can see that..

I guess it's a download thing, since it's got a 'digital' booklet... whatever that is...No you download it off of their server when it comes out. Not sure if you can burn it to a CD after that though, since it has DRM protections.
Starbug Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 No problem. You can download iTunes and get an account for free, though. But then again...that depends if you can get iTunes in your country (not sure where you're from).I'm from the US Alabama... but I have no need for iTunes, and it would take a week to download since I have dial up lol I've got a couple of versions from the radio, and the cd single is coming in the mail, so that'll keep me happy for now until I can download it.

Just seemed to me like they were trying to pick up an extra 30 cents on everyone, which amounts to a lot of money when you have possibly millions of people downloading it.So does that mean if I pre-order the entire album on iTunes it will come DRM free, or what?
Guitar4Girl Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 can't see it on the uk itunes yet I know, I keep on checking! I bet it will be on there either later today or tomorrow.
jnine13 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I've seen them do the whole album twice. KYE is not the best song on the album, I think they chose it for the new single because it has an energy to it that's similar to AI although it lacks its depth. While listening to 21stCB performed, it struck me as a true rock opera where the sum is greater than its parts.A lot of people say it reminds them of Queen, whose influence is certainly felt, but the overall feeling I got from it was more like Quadraphenia, more depth, less flash. AI is their Tommy, known for its individual songs as much as its overall story. This one is more of a set piece, the songs don't have as much meaning on their own as when they are heard together. Having said that there are some total get off of your ass and rock out songs, as well as a beautiful love song, with songs that sound like everything from Bertol Brecht to the Beatles, And some that are most definitely just Green Day. Get ready for the ride because it's going to be an unforgettable trip.(I just read the Rolling Stone review of the Fox show and they compare it to Quadraphenia too, I said it first!)
Bastard of 1967 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I find it funny that people will more than likely be offended by my posts regarding this song and not bat an eyelid at what I can only see as a racial term...You're entitled to your opinion about the single. For me, I tend to find their oldest material the most difficult to listen to and have liked them more and more as their sound has changed and matured (yes, even a few of the tracks on Warning have a welcome spot on my iPod). So far I like the new single a lot, but I agree it's very repetitive...time will tell whether it packs enough punch elsewhere to keep us from getting sick of it. We'll see....As for Mr. J**fuck, the fact that he had to choose a racially-loaded term to say that he feels the label is ripping him off because he has to pay an extra 30 damn pennies to get a DRM-free, 256Kbps-sampled track of the single, says all I think we need to know about him. I don't care if he claims he's Jewish and thus has some "right" to use that term. FWIW I am too, and I'm saddened to see someone who's supposed to be "like me/us" spewing hurtful racist crap back *at us* (which also means, back against himself as well) in what's otherwise a very open and welcoming message board here. Nuff said.
Telecaster Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I just ripped this song from GDA, since I dont have an itunes account.THIS SONG IS AWESOME!!!
.Holly Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Why does the physical CD available for preorder of the single cost £4.89 on Amazon, it's only got 1 song on it. That's probably half the album price....
Dookie93 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Fuck iTunes. Where can I ilegally download it?Wait, we can't ask that, can we?I'll hook you up, just PM me
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Ehhhnothing Uhmokay. I really don't get you now
perfectpitchrob Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I went to go download it and I realized that the pre-order of the album has 2 bonus tracks...but then I saw there's a deluxe edition of the pre-order that contains 2 MORE bonus tracks and a digital booklet! That makes 22 tracks in total!Plus, for pre-ordering, I got the single of know your enemy, and I'm listening to that as I type!
FJ Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Massively disappointed with Know Your Enemy. It's a blatant radio-friendly choice to guarantee airplay and thus sales.Viva La Gloria would have made a MUCH better first single.
B-CIDE Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 will anyone be able to rip it because i dont have a credit card so i cant buy it. :/MOD EDIT:It's posted up on GDA for people to listen to, http://www.greendayauthority.comPermanent stream of the single: XFM Thanks to OWfxApparently you'll need a UK postcode, feel free to use mine: SL5 9RW.Sorry guys. Apparently we have to delete the links to downloads just like we did for 21CB to avoid being sued. you all, sorry we gotta do this.FUCK Reprise Records, all they care about is money. I've already bought the $108 (shipped) collectors edition vinyl and they are worried about getting a single out for download, seriously Fuck Warner Brothers. Let one of them A&R assholes read this message too, fuck them, with the freest of speech. I'd love to meet the asshole from the record company who told you that you can't have people download this track, what a lame ass
