pooldude256 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 It wasn't a total flop. It debuted at number 4 and went gold. Yeah it didn't have the sale endurance of other albums, but I def. wouldn't call it a "total flop".Warning is their best album by far. I still say that it should have gotten the recognition that American Idiot did...It is great. I said it was a flop because it didn't really sell as well. Maybe I should have just said flop instead of total flop.
Haz Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 After fast forwarding the album past the song Warning(throw up noise), it actually gets pretty good with Blood, Sex and Booze and Castaway. But when it hits the GAWD awful Deadbeat Holiday, Hold On, Jackass, Waiting etc. Yeah I hate that. It finishes up with Minority and Macy's Day Parade which I love. So I don't hate the whole album, I just hate every non-single song except Blood, Sex and Booze and Castaway and Misery, and I hate Waiting and Warning.I agree with you about warning(song) But I think Waiting is actually pretty good, the solo kinda sucks though
Eirik Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Yes indeed. Every song on there is great. Not one bad one at all imo.I agree, though I from time to time skip one song.

kvnie Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 What's ticking me off the most is I can hear where this song could have been punched up so much more! I guarantee all of you that if this was produced under Rob Cavallo's watch it would have been WAY better. That is the power of a proven producer, they can take a song and say Extend this part, shorten this part, add background verse here, vary the lyrics here, drop this chorus here, add it back here....and the result is Dookie, Nimrod, American Idiot, The Black Parade, Happy Birthday To Me, Uninvited and a bunch of others. I think we are going to learn who is the real 4th member of Green Day on May 15th.I actually wonder what Rob Cavallo will make of the new album?
IscoredWaddlesgoals Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I'm afraid I'm with Mr Pickin'. Perhaps the repetitive lyrics wouldn't be too bad if they were deep and profound, but it's just sounds like 'enemy' and similar words repeated over and over again. Did Billie use a rhyming dictionary to write the song ? It wouldn't be too bad for a new band just starting out, but to say they've been away for so long and to come back with this, it's just disappointing. Plus, perhaps it's just me being simple (I'm readying myself for the hailstorm of abuse), but I'm kinda over songs all being about being against someone/something somewhere without them ever just coming out and saying what. It's always ''but it's up to the listener to decide, it's deep 'n' meaningful'' why does everything have to be confrontational and paranoid ?
Tomcat20 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Did a download link to the KYE B-sides already appeared or can they be downloaded on itunes as well?
RougeRogue Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 KINDA LIKE HOW BLACK DUDES ARE ALLOWED TO SAY NIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGGERRRRRRRRRIncorrect! They say "A" not "ER"
arrie44 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 C'mon, no Butch hating yet. It's one song.Yeah I agree, it could have packed a little more punch, but oh well. It's still good.Just speaking the truth my friend.I'm also very surprised Billie let this out make the cut. There is no way he can hear this song and feel like it's up to par with Green Day quality music. I'm having a hard time understanding the thought process. It was just such a long wait, the build up was huge and all we got was an ok song, I put it on par with She's a Rebel. It's ok, but ok isn't NEAR good enough for a Green Day lead single. I should have been consulted first !!

MusicalDeviant Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Okay. I just woke up from a well-deserved night of sleep. I waited until midnight for the song to pop up on iTunes. Didn't happen. So I went to bed. This song is, well, great, but I already knew that
Starbug Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Okay, so it's available now? Can people buy it off iTunes that don't use iTunes? Does anyone know? lol Also, why is that website I bought the cd single from the ONLY website you can buy the single from? lol it's got me worried...

I think it's a great collection of songs. Sometimes can't help skipping Hold on, Jackass or Waiting (good song but when you hear it too much, gah). What's wrong with the song Warning? It's not the best but it's still ok.
