The Disappearing Boy Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I was expecting to be blown away. I was blown away by American idiot when I first heard that, even though it's clearly behind many other tracks on that particular album. It was just an immense introduction to Green Day's biggest commercial and critical success.Know your enemy just doesn't hit me in the same way as American Idiot. It went down like a lead balloon for me.It's a good job I know that Green Day are sure to have a collection of excellent songs on 21st Century Breakdown other than this. That's pretty much guaranteed.didn't think you liked American Idiot.but i know what you mean about none of these songs so far ahve 'hit' me. but i do like them and i think they will grow on me, but so far there hasn't been an instant liking for the song, like there was on some of their other songs.but hey, you can't really judge on 3 listens, can you?
chickin'pickin' Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Yeah, and I'm sure KYE will grow on you as time goes by I seriously doubt it. But we'll see.
JessyRamone Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Do we have a link of KYE without the 20 seconds of radio introduction and with a higher quality?
chickin'pickin' Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 didn't think you liked American Idiot. It's a good album. Still can't believe it's a Green Day album, but yeah.I was in love with it when it was released, but it had no longevity for me, and this is why it's placed not far from the bottom of the pile in terms of Green Day albums.
mplsloseroftheyear Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 so i just got the new song on itunes and it pretty much sucks total ass. its probably thee worst green day single ive ever heard. i also got charged a 1.29 for the fucking song instead of the usual 99 cents! goddamn warner trying to jew fuck everybody!. incase youre having trouble finding it on itunes....access the itunes store and in the search engine type know your enemy and search for it that way cause it doesnt come up on green days page yet. scroll the results and its number 74.
pooldude256 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I read an article from Rolling Stone stating that 21st Century Breakdown is "Green Day's best album", so it's making me feel a little bit better...Well yeah and they haven't even heard the whole thing, have they? All the reviews we had of the first 7 songs sounded promising, and each said they were epic. It's really up to your own opinion though. Rolling Stone also says Warning is vastly underrated, and many here would rather Warning be stricken from the Green Day catalog (though I like it).
chickin'pickin' Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Do we have a link of KYE without the 20 seconds of radio introduction and with a higher quality?Dude. Quit pestering us to break the law and pester your parents to pay a quid for the song on itunes....
arrie44 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 What's ticking me off the most is I can hear where this song could have been punched up so much more! I guarantee all of you that if this was produced under Rob Cavallo's watch it would have been WAY better. That is the power of a proven producer, they can take a song and say Extend this part, shorten this part, add background verse here, vary the lyrics here, drop this chorus here, add it back here....and the result is Dookie, Nimrod, American Idiot, The Black Parade, Happy Birthday To Me, Uninvited and a bunch of others. I think we are going to learn who is the real 4th member of Green Day on May 15th.

It's still good.
mplsloseroftheyear Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Did you just say "Jewfuck" ?yes i did.

pooldude256 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Don't get me started on Warning. I'm curious now...do you hate it or love it? The fact it was a total flop is a complete crime, imo.Warning is terribly underrated.Yes indeed. Every song on there is great. Not one bad one at all imo.
The Disappearing Boy Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Warning is terribly underrated.yesIt's a good album. Still can't believe it's a Green Day album, but yeah.I was in love with it when it was released, but it had no longevity for me, and this is why it's placed not far from the bottom of the pile in terms of Green Day albums.i getcha
chickin'pickin' Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 yes i did.I find it funny that people will more than likely be offended by my posts regarding this song and not bat an eyelid at what I can only see as a racial term...
mplsloseroftheyear Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 So are you trying to say you are not a big fan of this song? yeah the song sucks. i think green day needs to cash in their poker chips while their ahead. they should just break up and play in the good bands their still in like pinhead gunpowder and the frustrators.
Katarina. Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Warning is terribly underrated.Yes it is, unfortunately.
Rob Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I'm curious now...do you hate it or love it? The fact it was a total flop is a complete crime, imo.Yes indeed. Every song on there is great. Not one bad one at all imo.It wasn't a total flop. It debuted at number 4 and went gold. Yeah it didn't have the sale endurance of other albums, but I def. wouldn't call it a "total flop".Warning is their best album by far. I still say that it should have gotten the recognition that American Idiot did...
Dylan. Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I'm curious now...do you hate it or love it? The fact it was a total flop is a complete crime, imo.Yes indeed. Every song on there is great. Not one bad one at all imo. After fast forwarding the album past the song Warning(throw up noise), it actually gets pretty good with Blood, Sex and Booze and Castaway. But when it hits the GAWD awful Deadbeat Holiday, Hold On, Jackass, Waiting etc. Yeah I hate that. It finishes up with Minority and Macy's Day Parade which I love. So I don't hate the whole album, I just hate every non-single song except Blood, Sex and Booze and Castaway and Misery, and I hate Waiting and Warning.
mplsloseroftheyear Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I find it funny that people will more than likely be offended by my posts regarding this song and not bat an eyelid at what I can only see as a racial term...yeah but i jewish so im allowed to say it just like the brothas can run around calling eachother nigga but if we do it were fucking racist assholes. warner is a bunch of jews and im pretty sure green day is the only band charging 1.29 for a song on itunes which entitles jew fucking of my wallet.
