Yep, it definitely said Lights Out when I looked multiple times last week, but the CD itself has only KYE. Shame

It's #22 on itunes now, yayy.

and KYE comes on the radio everytime I get in my car, it's really weird but I'm not complaining.

^ I have not heard it on the radio. Disappointing.

KYE is #42 in iTunes (In the U.S), and KYE is never played. Of course, Poker Face is played every 20 minutes or so, though. That song used to be tolerable at best before, but now that I'm being forced to listen to it in my art class every single fucking day against my will... I hate it with a passion. Radio stations in Pittsburgh suck.

I don't like Know Your Enemy that much; it's much too repetitive. Lights Out is much much much better.

KYE is growing on me like a cyst in summer.

Your ava frightens me

I just vant to say zat your signature is ze bomb. Frank Gallagher FTW!

:o Oh my god you're right. When I ordered it from there on Sunday it quite clearly said Lights Out in that tracklisting, that's why I went ahead and ordered it.

They must have changed it. Fucking shit! I feel like getting my money back and buying the single elsewhere if it arrives with 1 track.

That's pretty crap for them to go and change it. I am going to wait and see if it changes and if not buy it elsewhere i guess. It might be an error i suppose on their website so it just isn't showing that it has Lights Out on it as well as i don't get why it has been changed.

I'll let you know if it's on there or not when mine arrives, it'll probably be today or tomorrow. I'm thinking it probably isn't and they were wrong before but I'll wait and see.

Somehow Know Your Enemy has dropped from #2 to #12 on the Hot 30 Countdown!

oh noes! KYE is slipping down the itunes chart rapidly

Posted

Yeah, it was in iTunes (UK) at #11... now it's double that at #22.

What the fuck?

Damn, KYE has been dropping on the Hit List (you vote for your fav song) it made it to first, last night it was 4th or 5th, tonight it was 9th I think.

I voted for it everynight this week and most of last. I cant save KYE anymore :(

This lack of promotion is fucking bullshit, what the fuck happened?

What kind of promotion would you suggest? It's been getting decent radio play here and its position on the itune charts has improved rapidly.

Ok thanks! Hope it is on their especially as you've already ordered yours and at the time it was advertised as including Lights Out so they advertised a product they didn't have. But we shall have to wait and see. It is a bargain at 99p including p&p.

Yea the single gets more attention when the album is released.

Yeah, I mean if it'd only had Know Your Enemy when I first saw it I still would've bought it at such a good price, See The Light was just a bonus. I just don't really want HMV to have my money when they've misled me :P, I'd rather buy the same thing somewhere else. But yeah I'll see when it gets here.

Demi Lovato is higher than Green Day in the Itunes download charts, pretty sad if you ask me

So my Know Your Enemy CD arrived from HMV this morning, no Lights Out on there. Ha can't be arsed to complain to them about it. It's great to have the CD as I only had the recorded-off-the-radio version before, and I love the artwork

The Single is Number 1 on the modern rock charts right now, and number 3 on the mainstream rock charts. According to this, that's the biggest jump to number one in 15 years!

The strength of the song is supposed to be all the promotion it needs. In fact the leading single is supposed to promote the release of the album. Bad bad choice for what is going to be such a great album, I'm still scratching my head.

American Idiot was a HUGE single and really forced everyone to take a look at the album. I'd still rather crank up the AI song 5 years later than listen to KYE. I just can't understand how a band with the experience of Green Day would ever think that song could be a hit, I just don't get it!!

In fact, it has all the promotion a humber one hit single can have.

accept it, Green Day just chose a lousy single

Yeah, I agree it had all the promotion necessary. As Rob pointed out just above the two of you, from Billboard:

"Green Day makes the Modern Rock chart's biggest jump to No. 1 in 15 years, as "Know Your Enemy" rockets from No. 8 to No. 1 in just its second week on the chart. The track marks the biggest leap to the top since Nirvana's "All Apologies" bounded from No. 9 to No. 1 on the chart dated Jan. 22, 1994. All told, "Know Your Enemy" is Green Day's ninth No. 1 on the Modern Rock tally."

I don't understand what you guys who are complaining about a lack of promotion for the single are talking about. Its probably the most promoted single in the bands history between the massive airplay its gotten, the promo video on the basketball game, the promo's on Facebook and MySpace, very large amount of media coverage, etc, etc, etc.
