mad hatter. Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Yeah heh, great for the people who get to see them over and over again in the Bay. Like I said, how about giving some of the other big cities a chance to see Green Day?I concur.
marie1986 Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 i think we should just check out other theaters in the bay area online and see if GREEN DAY is on their calendar.
Hermione Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Yeah heh, great for the people who get to see them over and over again in the Bay. Like I said, how about giving some of the other big cities a chance to see Green Day?How about some other countries more like
tq6993 Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 fuck! i am sooooo moving to the east bay! i wonder if they will do these "warm up" shows again for the next album. who knows they might make a tradition out of it. like every time they have an album coming out they play a few small clubs! that would be suuuhhhweeeetttt!!!! if i ever get to go to one of these small venue shows i will bring a banner with the words "MOTHER MARY" on it! who knows they just might play it...i doubt it though.
Dylan. Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Yeah heh, great for the people who get to see them over and over again in the Bay. Like I said, how about giving some of the other big cities a chance to see Green Day?Yeah, like Phoenix. Any word from Andres yet?
xaristotlex Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 i think we should just check out other theaters in the bay area online and see if GREEN DAY is on their calendar. That's a good idea, but it wouldn't say "Green Day." There would either be no band listed or a fake band name, cause otherwise everyone would find out right away.
farley drexel hatcher Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Is this show supposed to be smaller than last night's? I just read somewhere they've got the place booked for over three hours, though that is just a rumour

xaristotlex Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 true....but then how does everyone hear that there will be more shows...like for next week?Well, no one knows for sure if there will be more shows. Apparently a radio station announced there probably would be, but they probably either got some inside information or are just guessing. I think I'll look around venues' websites anyway, but it won't be under "Green Day." :-(
.Holly Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 It's really great for you guys that live in the Bay Area getting all these "secret" gigs, but it's SOOO frustrating being stuck on the other side of the Atlantic. I would kill to get a chance to see them in a small venue like this.I can't put into words just how much I wished I lived where they're playing the shows. So frustrating.....
TheBullwinkle Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Is this show supposed to be smaller than last night's? I just read somewhere they've got the place booked for over three hours, though that is just a rumourThe Uptown is MUCH smaller than The Fox. I think max. capacity for The Uptown is like, 575, and I believe there were 3,330 tickets sold for last night's show.
marie1986 Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 i'm getting frustrated no tour news unless thats coming tomorrow. no other shows except for the bay area.
NoVaCaInE! Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 lets just hope they dont suddenly think "hey all these shows are pretty great lets just cancel the world tour and keep doing these for a while" It kinda seems like thats how things are going :/

shalamar Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 21 + I might gonna go and just listen to it from the outside. Like last week.Wanna come with me and listen? And we might can catch them after the show! You are such a good fan....I've gotten a cold and probably won't go...except that Idiot Club might have an easy way to get in. Then I think I should just go anyway and suck it up...
Dylan. Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I think that Green Day is doing all these shows because they are bored.
shalamar Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Uptown fits 575. Why would you request Good Riddance? They've played that song on every single tour since Nimrod. It's been played live nearly 1000 times. Why not throw in something awesome like 'Suffocate' or 'Scumbag' instead!I talked to the bartender at last night's show. He said that the Uptown is the approximately the size of the bar inside the lobby. Did anyone go in there? Smaller than DNA Lounge for sure.
farley drexel hatcher Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 These local shows might seem unfair to us, but think of all the band's families and friends who won't really get to see them very much over the next year or so while the band is off around the world. I suppose they want to make the most of the next few weeks before the album comes out. They'll make it out of the East Bay, eventually anyway xD
Zalex Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 yeah, and misery... But, will BJ remember that songs?? I'm not sureWho cares if he doesnt, the crowd will sing it hahahahabut seriously, SOMEBODY GET THEM TO PLAY MISERY AND RECORD IT.I talked to the bartender at last night's show. He said that the Uptown is the approximately the size of the bar inside the lobby. Did anyone go in there? Smaller than DNA Lounge for sure.I read on their site that the Uptown is 575.

I mean, they told us that the band was having an after party with their families inside the venue last night, so I'm sure it was special to them: I ran into Billie's sister, and my mom was standing next to Billie's kids.
Zalex Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Stadium shows=more money. Green Day likes money.Seriously, don't even go there.
sasierra Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Sup everyone, I'm bored from waiting in line so I figures I'd give you an update from my iPhone. Got here around twelve thirty, am about tenth in line. About fifty people are in line right now. A couple of people were doing their taxes whilethey waited in line. Some hardcore green day fans are first in line, I think they probably post here. It's really sunny out here and I wish I brought sun screen.
