I didn't know that about Horseshoes and Handgrenades. Huh, interesting. Now, what the fuck is a Charlatan?

Well, I can't get all the emoticons to show - need to reboot my computer, but if I could get them all to show, I would be adding the "Google is Your Friend" one right about now :).

Well if it's the opposite of a Saint I assume it is something bad.

Basically someone who is assuming a high position when he is actually a fake.

My favorite lyrics so far must be these ones:

from See The Light:

I've been chasing

Down the pool halls

Then I drank the water

From a hurricane

And I set a fire

Just to see the flame

and these from East Jesus Nowhere:

I am a killjoy from Detroit

I drink from a well of rage

I feed of the weakness with all my love

Catch up the captain, hey hey

..

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the album. It's the maintopic in my mind right now, no matter how obsessive that may sound. ><

[btw, hope this reply wasnt totally off-topic?]

The second was actually from "Peacemaker" not "East Jesus Nowhere."

Btw, no it wasn't off topic. This is for discussion of the lyrics afterall. :)

^I think it's about as on-topic as you can get! Ha that line from See The Light was one that really stood out from all the lyrics to me too, I love that imagery.

Also this from Last Night On Earth is just beautiful:

You are the moonlight of my life every night

I still haven't read them thoroughly though, every so often I go over to GDA and take a quick look at the odd song. It's very enjoyable :D

Thanks, but it's just showing up as broken link for me. I must be emoticonically challenged today :(.

Oh that's sad to hear. :(

Probably my favorite line that I have read comes from East Jesus Nowhere:

I want to know who's allowed to breed

All the dogs who never learned to read

Also I fucking fantastic line from Last of the American Girls

She comes in first place

for the end of western civilization

What the fack happened to the

bleed america bleed-version of 21ste century breakdown?

I liked that last part so much

Ok, scream is also not bad but bleed...

oh hell

rock on

i can't bring myself to read the lyrics. i don't even really like seeing the song titles. i just really want to listen to the album for the first time without knowing anything in detail about it. anyone else not reading the lyrics, listening to the songs from the live shows etc.?

^ I'm not, and I know a few others who aren't either

Yeah there are quite a few of them. On the other hand, I don't think I will be regretting watching them at all. The music is what I live for, not just the 2 hours of hearing an album the first time. But hey, to each their own. I respect ya'll who can resist the demo, the lyrics and all the live performances everyone else is enjoying. :whistling:

I think that some people are taking this Green Day virginity thing a little too seriously.

I can't believe any one else cares or even takes notice if we decide that's how we want to please ourselves. :whistling: :eyebrows::thumbsup:

Some people even seem to be outraged by the idea . I've decided I just find it funny now.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this little mistake from ¡Viva la Gloria! but:

Gloria, Viva La Gloria

You blast your name

In graffiti on the walls

Falling through broken glass that's

Slashing through yuor spirit

I can hear it like a jilted crowd

Also, I am loving this verse:

Cater to the class and the paranoid

Music to my nervous system

Advertising love and religion

Murder on the airwaves

Slogans on the brink of corruption

Vision of blasphemy, war and peace

Screaming at you

It's so dark, but its so true about all the bullshit the media forces down our throat on a daily basis.

Not really, I do it with all new music, but I find I especially like to do it with Green Day as their lyrics are some of my favorites and I like it when i'm hearing something new, that I haven't seen before. I don't want to hear the songs and think "that's cool but I already knew that". I can't really explain it, I just think the lyrics mean more to me when I am hearing them with the music instead of reading them off a computer screen.

i'm trying to keep the whole album like a presant/ surprise. I don't want to ruin it.
