They apparently left that one out, and replaced it with Song of the Century :)

That is what we all generally presume.

I really don't think so, it probably just didn't make the cut, I doubt it has anything to do with that song whatsoever. :)

And an answer to Basketcase?

Took them a decade to figure it out.

Well, a decade and a half actually. :P

Me too! It never in a million years would have occurred to me that they would publish the lyrics before releasing the album. And now I have a real dilemma, because I maintain the New Album page. Andres put the lyrics out there last night (because I obviously went to bed about 4 minutes too early), but I told Andres I would check them for typos, so what can I do?

I think I'll enjoy reading through them once or twice and then maybe wait a while for the album. I don't know. This is going to be a completely different experience from any previous album I've ever gotten. Maybe I'll learn them all by heart before May 15. That could be fun :)

I guess I'll wait and decide after I've done my QA this morning.

But the lyrics!!!! I'm with you Hermione - I'm a lyrics junkie.

I noticed that you are :D. Ha this is causing me great emotional turmoil! Yeah I'm not going to rush into it, I quite like your idea of only reading them once or twice so maybe I'll do that and just give them a quick once-over I fail to abstain completely.

I think you can abandon that hope - those lyrics are words on fire, nothing's gonna hold them back.

How right you are , I'm going to be forced to read them. I'm sure it'll be highly enjoyable though.

Last Night on Earth is gorgeous... at least the lyrics are. I can't find the right words in English to describe it, but I'm totally in love with it

Yikes. You ever read classic love poems? :P

Oh, I did... I read various. But I don't really like them, they are too cheesy, while LNOE (oh I like these abbreviations  ), is just beautiful.

I'm not a relationship sorta person, I don't like the idea of it, but the lyrics to Last Night On Earth really spoke to me. I get how people can wright stuff like that. If you feel what you wright, I think thats amazing and something to be celebrated. Billie feels that for Adie, I think thats something pretty special, and he's shared that with Green Day's fans. I think thats cool.

I've been left aphonic by this.

Absolutely brilliant. I cried.

Yeah...and I'm not really sure why Billie seemed to act all funny about that song. Cause he was quoted in the AP interview, "Oh god. You read that one? I don't know about that song yet." Or something to that extent...

"i'm not cursed 'cause i've been blessed

Yeah, you're right - but I'm much less likely to believe that is actually words now (like right here or round here), and I didn't believe that anyway - especially after seeing the 90 second video. I think it's wa-hey or possibly sometimes rah-hey and most probably a combination of different sounds with hey on the end.

I wish so bad that green day would change the release date to early may!

Oh well, with a new single on the way in 3 days, that'll do for me

I really like these lyrics from what I've read. There are some songs that are good enough to be considered poetry!

so im wondering if song of the century is just gonna be that repeated 2 chord thing anymore? cause now theres a lot of lyrics for it so maybe its an actual song?

Love it, can't wait for the album!

I really REALLY love how Billie writes songs.

It's like the way he writes, they read like poetry, and yet they go so well together in a song.

It amazes me because when you read it, it seems like some of the lines don't really go together I guess rhyming wise, but I think that's a misconception that a lot of people have is that poems and songs HAVE to rhyme, when they really don't.

I love how Billie goes outside the box. He goes outside the standard traditional way of writing.

I think he is offically my number 1 inspiration in songwriting/poetry.

I've seriously havn't written any poems or songs for months, and by reading all these lyrics, he makes me want to write again

And I don't think the lyrics to Last Night On Earth are "cheesy". I think if you love someone or something that much, being "cheesy" is the only way to get your feelings out to that person. Especially through a song.

But yeah...lol Anyway..

I'm really loving the lyrics to Viva La Gloria? I like the whole "Little girl, little girl. Little one, little one" transitions. Viva La Gloria? is really a song that I can really picture a woman who is protrayed as this little girl for maybe how small she feels inside, how weak she is, I can really see her walking alone through abandoned streets, with no where to go. I also really like the lines "The traces of blood, Always follow you home, Like the Mascara tears, From your getaway" and also "Little girl, little girl, you dirty liar, you're just a junkie, preaching to the choir." Ugh...the lyrics to that song are just...amazing.

I also like Last Night On Earth. My favorite lines in it are probably "If I lose everything in the fire, I'm sending all my love to you"

I love how in the first lines it's, "I text a postcard, sent to you, Did it go through?" and how the last lines are "If I lose everything in the fire, Did I ever make it through?"

I really think that Billie should be more recognized as a songwriter. I'd actually love to see him write like a fictional book or something.

Seriously though, I bet he'd be good at that. I'd just really love reading more of his writing just in general.

'tis true, the man is a genius. I still haven't read the lyrics, i'm waiting till i get the album. but from the little snippits i've read in people's posts, they sound amazing.

I'm gonna start reading through them now. I might try and learn them off by heart before the album comes out :D

Jesus H. Fuck, I feel like I just read the most intense, dark book of apocalyptic poetry.

I have to agree with Beth that this is the shortest post I've ever seen from you :).

But, after my first read through, I also have to say that you've said it all.

It was but it shouldn't be now. I'll double-check, but I definitely added it when I did my QA this morning.

is last night on earth the same as "all my love"

^As the song includes the lyric "all my love" several time, I'm pretty sure it is yeah. :)

It's fixed now, I just hadn't refreshed the page since I first opened it.
