From what i've heard, Horseshoes (the song) does not sound anything like American Idiot (the song) as indicated in this article.

In this article I think it means putting them near the end of the album in the 3rd act instead of blasting off with them at the beginning.

That's definitely what it is. They're backloading their album, instead of frontloading it like most albums do. in fact, off the top of my head, I couldn't name an album that I remember backloading hit songs.

Thanks for confirming that for me! In these days of CD's and mp3's where people can skip around at will, I wonder if it matters as much as it used to on the old vinyls. I do remember that most vinyls had most of the best songs on the first side. Sometimes the second side would hardly get played (then again, my favorites are often the less mainstream songs, so sometimes the first side hardly got played ).
