So far I've ignored absolutely everything from the new album so far (from that first teaser, to the leaked demo, and the previews of KYE, and now these live recordings). Ally Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 well i have heard the demo and obv the sample of KYE, and i've heard desperate too, but the rest i have heard like the 20 sec ones, so i have had a taster but, the other audio i've got i can't hear very well so i might leave it and just wait for the album, or i might spend an hour or too editting the audio so its clearer, but i dunno, i think i will end up waiting for the album cos i have to much other stuff i need to do!

Before I did, I was cautious and thought about it because I didn't want to feel like I'd spoiled things for myself and regret it. To my relief it hasn't spoiled it, songs sound so different live and it's only a tiny snippet of each song. I've found it's just made me even more hungry for the album because I love everything I've heard and I know it's only going to get better. It's also made me even more desperate to see them live! Not to mention, Green Day themselves decided to play those songs to a few fans - I'm sure that hasn't spoiled the album for them, so me hearing them is no different *goes to watch clips again*

For me that would be very different from hearing low-quality clips from cell phone recordings. I'd rather just wait (unless I can figure out a way to have that ultimate real-live experience beforehand ).

I'm listening the KYE preview, the 20 second clips and Desperate/Murder City (<3), but I'm not sure if I wanna listen those recordings from outside. On the one side, I'm very eager to hear the songs and just to hear that whole recording. On the other side, I want my first listen to be something good, not crappy live recordings. But of course, crappy live recordings sound way different than the end product. But then the songs aren't a surprise anymore. So I'm just turning around in a circle..(and this was a shortened version - I could rant all day about this )

I dont think listening to them spoiled anything, quite the opposite, they got me in the mood and gave an idea about the new album. It was like watching movie fragments with a noisy audience in the theater xD

I see both points of view, too, and at times it's a real temptation for me not to listen to things. But I know for sure I don't want to hear the new songs as recorded at the Independent yet. I haven't had a doubt about that.And 5 weeks from tomorrow, my wait for the entire new album will be over! It's almost too mind-boggling to believe - but !!!
