I'm wide awake after the riots

This demonstration of our anguish

Wait a second I told her that's no reason

like a bottle of your favorite poison

As far the the chorus goes, I'm definately hearing

We are the last call and it's so pathetic

Desperate, but not hopeless

Life is so peaceless in the Murder City

Desperate, but not hopeless

The clock strikes midnight in the Murder City

My english SUCKS, but I hear a "desperate, but not helpless".

By the way, am I the only one that thinks that sounds a lot like My chemical Romance? :ermm: I'm kind of scared about it right now.

Yeah it does.. a bit. Not scared about it though. It's gonna be a mixture of my favs

At 2:27 you can hear he says 'Desperate, but not hopeless' pretty clear

Listening to it, I do also hear But not hopeless; but in the same chorus, the other line(before "the clock...") I here I got...

Possibly it's the first time but not hopeless, second time i got helpless (or something like that)

Now I hear in the second line' Desperate, but not helpless'

They have a song called Desperate. lolz

It could also be called Murder City :)

I hear what I focus on. I've heard "But not helpless", "But not hopeless" (or something that sounded like it could be 'hopeless'), "But not homeless" (same as for hopeless), "I got helpless", "I got hopeless", "I got homeless".

But with my iPod I hear "helpless". I can't really figure it out, 'cause I hear helpless but I also hear that it could be a Billie-pronounciation of hopeless....

that wasn't really helpful, was it?

Or I could mean the other way around :D

?

Oh, I get it. No, I definitely hear helpless with the possibility of it being a weird pronounciation of hopeless.

I listened to the song again and I heard Helpless and Hopeless in different verses, so Billie must me just playing with us lol

Mm, I really hear "but not"now.

^oh, yeah, didn't think about that yet!

Too bad, now I gotta listen it again

he says it 2x per chorus, and 1 time in the beginning..

1 but not helpless

--

1 but not helpless

2 but not helmless . helpless, I guess then. listened that again, now I hear homeless...weird.

--(solo etc)

1 but not helpless

2 but not hopeless

1 but not helpless

2 but not hopeless

Actually... now that I hear it again and again... I think he says... I wear pink hats

Ah, of course!

But it could also be "bear hats"...:/

But not helpless/hopeless

Life is so peaceless in the murder city

Desperate

But not helpless/hopeless

The clock strikes midnight in the murder city

It's a good laugh to life's no reason

Life is so peaceless in the murder city

Desperate

But not helpless/hopeless

There comes a dwelling against the racing

It's written all over our faces

We are the last call and it's so pathetic

That's what I hear. I'm sure he sings 'but not helpless'. But I think he sometimes changes it to hopeless, so that's why I put hopeless as an alternative here :)

So that was the line I couldn't figure out :woot:

it's obviously helpless, not hopeless.

helpless makes sense.

Both helpless and hopeless make sense to me. So it's just down to deciphering his voice as usual :D

well, true, but it's more logical because you would need help if you were desperate; he's saying he doesn't need help.

either way, you can have hope. i'm just over thinking this. :P

It could be both too. I listened it, and I hear sometimes the one, sometimes the other, but in a pattern

he says it 2x per chorus, and 1 time in the beginning..

1 but not helpless

1 but not helpless

2 but not helmless . helpless, I guess then. listened that again, now I hear homeless...weird.

2 but not hopeless

2 but not hopeless

Oh no you can never over think these things, I never stop thinking about them

Yeah I see what you mean and you're probably right, but I suppose "desperate" is quite a loose term so it could mean a several different things.

I thought it was 'desperate, but not hopeless' before I came on this thread, and now I see all these people saying it's 'helpless' and 'homeless.' :/ I don't know...

I believe I'm the only one that says 'homeless', but I don't think that he sings that, I just hear it.

Well.. if you just look at the context of the song and the line I'd say Hopeless and Helpless.

He's desperate but not hopeless.. makes sense. And he's desperate but not helpless.. makes sense too. I think he's saying them both. One in the first lines and the other in the second.

Like the MCR song Kill All Your Friends. Two lines alternate each other.. that's the same with this song.

I just gave another comparison with MCR :P

^ I'm not the only one that compares the song with them *-*
