Milo Goes To Pasalacqua Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I understand what you mean. There was a point in time where I remember distinctly that I was obsessed with the very existence of this band. And now it's not as if I dislike them, it's just I don't feel what I used to feel when I hear about them. It's funny, I kind of sometimes feel like it was a phase sort of thing, but then this new album still excites the shit out of me at times. I don't know. It's hard to explain, really.Like, if they were on the radio, or TV, I would literally stop doing what I was and sit around and listen until it was over. And now, its like when I'm shuffling through my ipod, I simply skip a Green Day song if it comes forth, eh.Exact same with me recently, as hard as i tried, i could not seem to be emotionally affected by even my faves of theirs. Until thursday night, i got back my spark and i am listening to GD 24:7 now. I can be inspired by arts now again. I had a dumb little rant about this elsewhere, but yeah, you get it, i'm happy i don't feel like a middle-aged coach potato that hates everything even though i'm just a 15 year-old anymore. You'll get back into them eventually when the time is right. Unless you never truly liked them in the first place. Or if you were just a teeny boppper that enjoyed the AI teenie trend, you obviously will never feel much for them, since they ain't really the end band at this very moment.
Juan Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 i mostly stay on here for the (sometimes) friendly banter and riff-raffmostly it's sexual banter
KerplunkxCreak Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 This is all very therapeutic isn't it ?I do still like them, but the whole HLAHG thing has pissed me off and is possibly more their fault than we would like to admit. Plus, some people on here tend to gloss over the nastier, less convenient aspects of the band's personalities.I think you're right.
pooldude256 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 lol yeah, it is a bit bizarre But ya know, it happens. I lost interest in GD after Warning for a little while. But it picked right back up stronger than ever after AI. But I've NEVER stopped loving them, and I never will And I concur Well have you met Billy? He is a bit bizarre.
amelialoh1992 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Well have you met Billy? He is a bit bizarre.I think we all are 'a bit bizarre' in one way or another. *twitches*
KerplunkxCreak Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Hahahaa yeahhhhWe are a bit bizarreBut this guy is weird posting this thread on this comunity lolwell, from my point of view, he is lol
Jynx it up Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I used to be obsessive with them, but that has died down. Sure, I don't listen to them everyday and I guess I like them a bit less, but that doesn't mean I don't like them. I will always treasure Green Day because they brought me into the world of punk. Because of them, I got into the Ramones and Th clash. And from there on, I got into heavier music.
Tiffx Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 As a PS to my post I'd like to say that as my music tastes have matured I've realised that The Living End are essentially a more talented, better version of Green Day.Green Day and The Living End are both equally superior IMO, the Living End just seem to be really underrated. anyway, I still like Greenday and I still enjoy listening to their music. They are just one of the bands that I happen to love. But lately, with all this new information about the record, I havn't really been keeping up and when I do hear some news, I don't find myself getting too excited over it. In any case, cannot wait to get my hands on that new record.
virysya Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I love them. But I have to admit that I haven't been listening to them for a long time, but now I'm ok with it
mad hatter. Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I kinda stopped listening to them for the past couple of years, but I've started to listen to them again. (:
Spark of Insanity Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Aye, I still love them as much as I did when I first discovered them and a bit more. They are the only band I really ever majorly got into and will always be my favorite band. I don't think that I will ever loose interest in them, even though I do loose interest in albums and songs I have listened to too much. Like American Idiot and Nimrod. And sometimes I don't listen to them as much as I do sometimes so I don't burn myself out on them and then just like them more again.

Peace and Rainbows Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I ablsolutly love them!!!! They create damn good musica and billie joe is super sexy!
Mayra Vicious Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Yes I like Green Day, eh, no, like is a wrong word, love is the correct word Have been a big fan for 15 years, and will still be a fan for 15 more years
Guest 16PaperLanterns Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 yes: I like them, but I'm not obsessed, and rarely listen.
NoVaCaInE! Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Well definitely not as much as i used to like them when i first got into them, but i can feel my old passion for them coming back now, im just so excited for new material, and im so excited that i might finally fucking see them live < joy
saurus Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Green Day and The Living End are both equally superior IMO, the Living End just seem to be really underrated. How can two things be "equally superior"? That doesn't really work.
DarrenDookie Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Green Day have been my favourite band since I first heard of them back in 2004, BUT the main reason theyre still my favourite band is because I bought all of their other albums, from 1039 SOSH to Shenanigans, if they decide to go another 5 years without a new album thatll probably change
Haydée Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I used to think GD was the best band on earth.now I don't.I do not enjoy GD's music like beforebut I still love them, they are a part of my life and I will always be excited whenever I hear their name.
queso Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 yes, otherwise i wouldnt be here on facebook i have my religion as: "The Reverend Strychnine Twitch"
NowhereBound Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 What kind of moron likes Green Day?I mean...the last hit they had was American Idiot. What have they done since then? 21st Century Breakdown? Please....that album is mediocre at best. The best song was "See the Light," and that's just because it was the final song and told us the album was over!Like seriously, Green Day is so yesterday. You oughta get into Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers. That is real music right there.Caution: Idiots may actually take this post as the truthI'm guessing that's sarcasm, cuz once you said Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers...I was thinking this guy cannot be serious.
Teenage Kicks! Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I do...still. Maybe a bit to much?HahaBut there are some days I chill. I have to listen to atleast ONE song, or I'm like dead. My hype is triggered by they're music.
