Guest Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 i dont listen to them very often anymore, and im definitely not obsessed, but they'll always ~have a special place in my heart~ and i'm excited to see them in concert again.
Parley Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 i'm being a bit ballsy doing this on a Green Day forum. No, you're not. It's been talked about many times on this forum.I continue to like Green Day quite well.
Chad is Rad Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Um...of course. They're my favorite band, as they will always be.I think that this album could very possibly make me like them a lot more than I do right now.
Guest Billy Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I'm just curious but..If you don't like Green Day anymore, why are you logged in this forum yet? lolIt's just ridiculous lolbecause, this forum doesn't deal with Green Day. more than half of this forum is relative to other more important fans.and i wouldn't say i like Green Day, but at the same time i don't dislike them. they're just boring me right now.the same old stuff over and over again, the only way i could be impressed was if they released an album non-revolutionary with many different genres.i can't stand listening to the same 10 Chords and Melodies repeated ten thousand and one times.that's what I thought too you're an odd one, not to pick at you, but you kind of have a psychologically needed assistance for your love for Green Day.you're the biggest fan i've ever seen in my life, but you really need to let go and live a little outside of a Californian Pop Band.Hahahaa yeahhhhWe are a bit bizarreBut this guy is weird posting this thread on this comunity lolwell, from my point of view, he is lolnot really, i used to love Green Day, i've grown on them to an extent.i used to think Billie Joe was the coolest guy, and i wanted to be like him.he's a nice guy i think, when he's not trying to be a punk son of a bitch.he seems fairly intelligent, he's a family man, and is reasonably funny, but it's not those things i really like about the guy.when i was younger, eight or so, i used to dream of playing the guitar. well, my dad played so i thought it was cool to play.after listening to the who and Green Day, i used to get so excited and air guitar infront of mirror.so eventually i got a guitar and started to play, it was the start of something new.today, i guess you can say i'm a pretty good guitarist, as i can play almost any style from Spanish guitar to 80's Thrash Metal.another thing i cite him as the seed for, was actually reading intelligent books. when i was thirteen the most complicated book i had read was Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix or Don Quixote. i kept reading about Billie Joe reading the Catcher in the Rye, so eventually i realized i had a copy of the book at my house. it was the first complicated book that i had to ponder about. one thing led to another and currently i'm reading books by Samuel Beckett and delightful books from authors beyond the writing power of J.K. Rowling and Cervantes. so i guess you can say i'm weird here for not liking the band, but they played a large role in my life besides their music.
Miqui_Dee Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I used to be Green Day obsessed when American Idiot came out and every piece of news that came out after that and recently about the album has got me hyped up. I know I still love them, but the snippets and the 21st century breakdown demo song have just made me slowly slowly slowly begin to lose hope in them. I am hoping that when I hear the album in its entirety that my faith in Green Day will be restored because right now I'm in limbo with them. and not the dance where you bend in half to go underneath a stick, as fun as that may be when done with the Green Day gang.
Tubbie Head Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 If I didn't like Green day.. Why would I be here? I thought that everyone here liked Green day... 11 !? that's a lot ..I'm disappointed with GDC right now ..
Donna Saint Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 WTF, Billy? There is a minority who doesn't like Green Day anymore
girlinabox93 Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I've liked greeday for a while now, and I've always had that feeling of excitement whenever I hear their name and I will defend them at any cost. lol but I can see what you mean. I'm like that with MCR now. I used to OBSESSED with them. but now I can't stand them. of course, MCR is a totally different story. They just suck. but greenday is my favorite band and they probably always will be. At least I hope so. just out of curiousity. what other bands do you like?
Juan Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 simple, if you still get shivers down your spine every time you listen to a new song, you still love them very much.
Jaymee!! Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I love Green Day forever I'm definitely not spending all my money to go out and buy magazines with even just the smallest picture of them, so I can add it to the collage on my bedroom wall, or buying every Green Day trinket they sell at Claire's (both of which I used to do back in the day). Now I just get a little adrenaline rush every time I hear them mentioned out in the 'real' world. Or, if a song comes on my iPod or the radio that I particularly enjoy, I'll get this stupid grin on my face and start singing really loudly and pumping my fist in the air and whatnot. It's a very warm and welcome feeling
.Holly Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I'm one of those fans just "jumping on the band wagon" that only got into Green Day when AI came out. I was 14, and only just getting into music when AI came on my radio and I thought "fuck, this is good". Since then, I've gone back and bought aaaall their albums. There's something about Green Day I can't put my finger on, they're just amazing, whatever they do. So excited for 21CB!!! And the new song sounds awesome.
DeJennsitized Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I still regard Green Day as my favourite band. A few years ago they were the only band I listened to, because they're what got me into music in the first place.Since then I've discovered hundreds of bands, and a few that I love almost as much as Green Day. I still get excited when a Green Day song appears on Kerrang or MTV, and if they're mentioned in a magazine. Up until last month, I hadn't listened to them an awful lot, just because of the amount of new songs I discover all the time, but when I got the new demo I was back into the whole listening to albums back to back and whatnot. Now I'm shitting my pants for 21st Century Breakdown. I have a feeling that I won't care if it's nothing revolutionary or completely different from anything they've ever done; if it's got that classic three-chord 'Green Day' style, I'll be happy. Damn thing comes out on the day of my first GCSE exam though. Lol.
Dai. Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I used to think GD was the best band on earth.now I don't.Because you've found Nightwish <3
Green Day Luigi Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 **** no. Green Day is terrible and they're the worst band ever.Just kidding. Of course I like them. They're still my favorite band and I wouldn't be here if i didn't like them.
Juju Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 yes, i still have a soft spot for the guys.my adoration of them is not as huge as it once was, but their music's still important to me, and that's all that really matters.
Jynx it up Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Like I said before, I like them, but I am somewhat disappointed of what I've heard from the new album. Hopefully it will grow and me and I'll still see them this summer.
minority0223 Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 i <3 green day for ever, even though it would be nice if they had more albums soon after this one, their songs are getting a bit boring for me. still love them though!!!!!!!!!!!
xBasKetxCaSex Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 not nearly as much as four years ago. but I mean. I discovered that there's a lot of music around.I still love GD though. awesome music. I just don't obsess about it.
woahinez Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 I still love GD. I had thought I didn't anymore about 4 years ago and I had lost hope in them and didn't care much if they putout new material. Now that they're coming back with a new album, I'm excited as ever.
thenextsexpistol_mak Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 all my friends are metalheads so im used to people:''have ya heard the new metallica record? after '...and justice' they started sounding like green day''''so bad?''so if you dont like green day i respect it but what are ya doing in a green day forum?
