I was just going to ask about Tony - so this means, I'm assuming, that he didn't renew his contract and he won't be returning? Quote

ScreamsInSilence815 Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 It's exciting, but almost two months? I hope he doesn't wear himself out! But seriously, now all I need is for Johnny to extend his contract and my life will be made. Or, since he probably won't extend, that his last show be during St. Billie's run so I can catch the two together. Quote
Bastard of 1967 Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Billie Joe Armstrong returns to the cast of AMERICAN IDIOT for 50 performances only as St. Jimmy, starting January 1, 2011 through February 27, 2011. *Billie Joe Armstrong will be performing the role of "St. Jimmy" 1/1-1/9, 1/18-1/30, and 2/10-2/27. Holy shit, my wife and I have front-row IC tix for the 1/9 matinee. Ok now that I've got *that* out of my system....remember folks, 1/9 evening panel interview with Michael Mayer and bj is scheduled even though there's an evening performance that same night. My guess has to be that somebody else in the cast will be on for Billie for the evening performance. So if you wanna see Billie on the 9th, get tix for the 3pm matinee, not the 7:30pm evening performance. Quote
sundaymorning6am Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 I feel like this is their last attempt to recoup all of their investors money, and after he leaves, they're going to close... just a thought... Quote

They probably decided to cancel it so he wouldn't be missed. Quote

Too many refunds to have to give out if it closes in late Feb. since they're selling tix through May 1 right now. I think his being there will give the show a huge 2-month boost at the box office while the Original Broadway Cast "v.2.0" players get settled into their roles, and from Feb. through May (1st) it'll do what it will do. But if bj's presence keeps it in the top 5 grosses for two months the investors will be more than happy regardless of how well it does after Billie leaves. I'd be quite surprised if the show extends beyond May 1 though. Quote
