Does anyone know if theres any videos of Libby as heather?

Besides the AOL Sessions, not that I know of. Videos of the musical aren't the norm despite what was seen from last week.

who's the guy in the hat?

and who sings the lyric "so take the photographs and still frames in your mind"

never saw those 2 before

thanks guys

Heh... you can see Esper put it in in this video from Berkeley. The password is "berkeley." It's the last bit of "Homecoming" and all of "Whatsername." Unfortunately, the video isn't the best quality due to the compression and the audio isn't quite in sync with the video. LOL. But you get the gist.

ETA: One of my favorite things about "Whatsername" is that all the choreography is from all the previous songs. It's pretty neat.

he does it so fast never noticed it before

great video

Yup. What watsername said.

The order is-

Gerard (ensemble, Theo and Rock & Roll Boyfriend understudy)

Wallace (ensemble, Favorite Son)

Miguel (ensemble, Rock & Roll Boyfriend, Theo understudy)

Libby (ensemble, Heather & Extraordinary Girl understudy)

Declan (ensemble, Will understudy)

Andrew (ensemble, St. Jimmy & Favorite Son understudy)

And then they split the song into groups. :)

Thanks for posting that - I do get the gist  Poor baby! I wasn't able to see in it Berkeley - seeing all the little differences just in that one video is cool! I was waiting for Will to hold back Johnny, and he didn't go!

And YES about the choreography in Whatsername! It's like each of the characters kinda does a bit of his/her own little part again. I also love the look Whatsername gives Johnny as he's banging his head, which btw, always amazes me! How he gets upright without falling over after headbanging for so long, is just so incredible to me, lol!

The choreography - which, again, is another thing I started to really watch in later shows - tells a bit of the story on its own in some songs. I know I've said this before, but I will prob never hear Novacaine again without seeing that scene in my head. (And no, not the bed scene, lol.) And September - well, that one always hits home, and is just so powerfully heartbreaking to me. It's so simple, but it's so complex all at the same time.

damn you.

Has Brian ever gone on as any of the main guys?

Posted

Brian doesn't understudy anyone, as far as I know. However, before Esper joined the project, Brian was Will in the workshops. There's a video/audio of him singing Novacaine somewhere... I'll post it later when I get home if no one does beforehand.

As promised, Brian singing "Give Me Novacaine"...

I would love to Esper or Declan or even Theo do this arrangement. :)

Van is reportedly going on for Johnny October 15th and 16th. He went on tonight as Tunny.

Thanks for posting all these great videos! I love seeing vids of the American Idiot musical

I personally would love more videos of Esper, like.. singing Give me Novacaine or something. That would be great!

It's not Novacaine, but it's Too Much Too Soon from Berkeley. Password is TMTS

Heh... Johnny stagedoored tonight. Nice. I've been loving his tweets lately; not that I've never loved them, but I love his silly tweets a bit more than his usual tweets.

Extraordinary Girl is suppose to be Tunny's dream/vision of the nurse that he fell for. Because he was shot in the leg, he's limited physically. However, in his dream, he (and she) fly around because he's free and healed.

thank you for that.

all i could think was they found some rope in the back and wanted to fit it into the performance somewhere.

I did not. I'm going to try again next week. :(

The morphine drip helped a bit with that, too. lol.

And yea, when I first saw that scene, it distinctly reminded me of Peter Pan. I wasn't a big fan of it. It's grown on me. It's really hard to do that aerial work, sing, and act at the same time.

Heh... Indeed.

I don't know if I posted this before but here's Miguel, Brian, Chase, Esper, and Gerard performing "Longview."

Esper really rocked it out back there. LOL.

Select seats at the 10/24 7:30pm show of American Idiot will benefit the Actors Fund. There will also be a talk back with the cast after!

Has it already been a year since I was lucky enough to see this amazing musical? I've really enjoyed watching American Idiot grow. The entire cast and crew has absolutely done justice to the album and the band, and I've appreciated welcoming all of the Broadway people into our extended Green Day family. I think it's a pretty sweet deal.
