misslyssx Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 The cast are performing WMUWSE Monday morning on Regis and Kelly
Alan86 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Only green day could have people crowd surfing on broadway.
misslyssx Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Really? Odd choice. Love the song, always have but why choose such a somber song for a national audience when the last major national audience was the musical version of 21 guns. People are going to think they've gone completely ballad. Ohhhh, I just noticed "The Cast" Yea, I think its just the guys from the cast. I guess it is an odd choice but I'm excited for it

People are going to think they've gone completely ballad. Ohhhh, I just noticed "The Cast" Not really an odd choice. It's all about playing to the demographic. The viewers of that show are an older crowd, so a mellow song makes sense. Also one that has no swearing.
HoneyDo666 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Wish I didn't have class when Regis and Kelly will be on, I love them in general, but having the AI cast makes it must-watch-TV!
Metanoia Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 after seeing all the trailers etc. im so curious to see this (if i ever get the chance )
MassHysteria Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 There's a color ad for the show in todays NYT. Anyone willing to snag me one
Bastard of 1967 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Yea, I think its just the guys from the cast. I guess it is an odd choice but I'm excited for it Not at all IMO -- it's one of the best songs they do in the whole show (they *really* nailed it last night), plus it's very familiar to most folks.
MassHysteria Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 They just posted the MTV interview with Katie (and other chick who we don't like): http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1637681/20100423/green_day.jhtmlWoops nevermind it's about last nightWoops nevermind it's about last night
MassHysteria Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Leave it to the people at the NY Press to find something negative to say about last night's show: http://www.nypress.com/blog-6337-green-day-tries-to-sell-out-broadway.html
boulevardreams Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I won't be going until this summer either. I'm a couple hours away from the city and school keeps me pretty busy, but I'm really excited about it now!
MassHysteria Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Another interview with Stark Sands, this time from the LA Times: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/culturemonster/2010/04/stark-sands-green-day-american-idiot-broadway.html they really seem to like interviewing him

"Ailing musical" usually doesn't mean packing the house nightly for a solid month of previews and then three kick-ass performances in a row for the opener. Anyone know how ticket sales for weeks/months out are doing?

Bastard of 1967 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Last I saw (not sure what dates), the percentage of tickets sold was high 70's Not bad. Looks like they're having a great opening week at least. Hoping the momentum holds in there.....
