Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 ooh nice one. wonder what the 'surprise number' is.
misslyssx Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 AND THE VIDEO OF US MEETING BILLIE!!!!!!!!!! That video is the cutest thing ever. Made me smile. You are one lucky girl
Isabel Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I love how Billie Joe uses words like "pulverising" to describe the musical and then the mic goes to Tre and he says "It was hot, it was sexy, it was invigorating...I had a boner"
Laura! Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 So it looks like it has been CONFIRMED that Green Day is playing at tonight's performance.... Oh you lucky people who are going.
farley drexel hatcher Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Been on Twitter and yeah it looks like they are, least that's the rumour ... the band is there plus Adie and the boys. And MTV are there too
MassHysteria Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Lol I love this portion I just read in one of the Playbill articles when they're interviewing Michael Esper: "I've done those drugs that my character does. He really just smokes pot and drinks a lot, and I've done all the research that I need to do on those things. I'm done." Way to go the extra mile. With Tre & Gerard (I'm sure theres others) around, it couldn't have been hard to research. http://www.playbill.com/features/article/138911-PLAYBILL-ON-OPENING-NIGHT-American-Idiot-Green-Days-Red-Letter-Day
MassHysteria Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Just got this tweet: "yankeegirl51680 Green day on stage sjdhfdfufufufugfufufufr" Also: "grassmahgirl John and Becca getting ready for Green Day to perform. #aibway http://twitpic.com/1hn8dn " and "grassmahgirl Green Day performing "American Idiot" at #aibway. http://twitpic.com/1hn8ka " And we got another pic: http://twitpic.com/1hn8ka/full Sounds like they're now playing Basket Case
Laura! Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 http://twitpic.com/1hn9im I guess they are on to Basket Case now. It's like a mini concert !
Nmd Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I would give anything to be there right now. I concur
karma1215 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Nope, she never even talked to me until we were about to go to the Red Carpet. She was really friendly to me, but I still don't really care for her. She acted like this was just like an everyday thing or something.. idk. and she was making fun of all the green day fans, which was also a bunch of GDCers that were inside the barricade waiting since earlier in the day just to see the band. she was like "Those Green Day fans have been outside since like 2pm, if they want to see the band so bad why don't they just go to one of their concerts" She was pretty arrogant and she was also there more for the musical part of it, it felt like she wasn't really a big Green Day fan at all. But thats okay, thats what they have me for! and to represent GDC! You represented GDC ... amazingly well. Thank you for sharing your experience with all of us. Cheers to you and your mom
sundaymorning6am Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 OMG. I saw a show two blocks from the St. James tonight that was also an hour and a half and I ran over to the St. James after and caught the tail-end of Green Day performing 'American Idiot' and then they did 'Basketcase.' So amazing! If anyone was there for the whole thing, did they do any songs besides those? I took a video of Basketcase, but i think it's pretty bad...

sundaymorning6am Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I walked in! Literally just walked in. At that point, after curtain call, no one cares if you were a ticket holder that night or not.
lizziebix Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I walked in! Literally just walked in. At that point, after curtain call, no one cares if you were a ticket holder that night or not. I'm pretty sure only a New Yorker would know that! Very cool on your part.

valentinesandcigs Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I wonder what other surprises the band has for New York. Its fucking awesome that they did that
plaid ducky Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Heh... After the cast did "Good Riddance," the stage hands came out with mics and out came Billie, Tre, and Mike. The cast was so in awed and were rocking out. They played "American Idiot" and then "Basket Case." MTV was filming along with many, many others. Ben Thompson probably had the best view as he was recording on stage. Theo tried to crowd surf but only made it to the 4th row. Quite epic.
lizziebix Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 What a treat for everyone there. And a great surprise.
