Juan Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 NOT THAT HARD!!!Well, we have Billy and Darryl being the grammar nazis, I'm the Spanish grammar nazi (along with Jose), you'll be Capitalization nazi
goldwing7500 Posted March 29, 2009 Author Posted March 29, 2009 I don't really like getting called a nazi. How about something else.
Juan Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 I don't really like getting called a nazi. How about something else.you got the soup nazi as company...! if you don't like the title how about dictator
goldwing7500 Posted March 29, 2009 Author Posted March 29, 2009 haha seinfeld... Dictator will be fine.
The Disappearing Boy Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 i wouldn't mind if they wnet independant. doubt it will happen though.No. You Just Gotta Know How To Use The Shift Button.yes, it is easy. its also annoying to read.
Greenday_Aussie Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Green Day could go to Adeline.Or Reprise needs to run away from Warner. Can they do that, or do warner own them?Wait, if Reprise IS Warner, why not just put the Warner Logo on the CD instead of Reprise, or Warner could just swollow Reprise up.
Hermione Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 I dunno about what kind of label would be best for them, but surely they could demand more control from Warner, or any other major label for that matter? I mean they're one of the biggest bands in the world, you'd think they could get pretty much any kind of deal they wanted.
gmcloughlin Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Warner sucks. If Reprise would split from them then I would be thrilled. Reprise has outspokenly rebelled against a lot of Warner's policies. We should start a petition. Except there is less money in indie, which means less tour dates, less frills at the concert. It's just better for everybody to suffer through Warner's bullshit. It's not worth the consequences.I agree. Everyone knows Warner sucks, but its best if we stick with them :/
Foxboro Hot Tubs Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Adeline Records would be great!but I think such a small record label can't deal with such a huge band like green day
Boston Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 I don't think that Warner has ever prevented Green Day from doing what they want. They certainly haven't ever prevented me from hearing what I want. The bottom line is that as long as I'm getting new songs and tours as Green Day writes them and travels, I don't care what label they belong to.
Juan Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 but I think such a small record label can't deal with such a huge band like green dayyou'd think that, but a label like Epitaph could handle them easily (and they'd get out of Hot Topic )
musse Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 but I think such a small record label can't deal with such a huge band like green dayIf they went to Adeline then Adeline would get more money and become big enough to handle GD. Lots of people like Green Day and buy their albums.
Dylan. Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 I'm pretty sure that Adeline is part owned by Warner. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
Juan Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 I'm pretty sure that Adeline is part owned by Warner. Correct me if I'm wrong though.Nope, Adeline is not a subsidiary of Warner, Reprise is
Eirik Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Warner is a great company.Uhm, no. They are in no way "great"...
Dylan. Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Uhm, no. They are in no way "great"...Or a company. They are more of a corporation.
Juan Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Just like other mayor label, Fat Mike is right, they just care about the money I mean look at Clive Davis, nice guy and all, respected by the community, but when Kelly Clarkson said she wanted to write he own songs, he said no, she did it anyway, and he stopped promoting the album
ferryfan Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Would it not be the case that Green Day would have a lot of creative control over their work given their status. If this is so, then changing to an indie label would only have a negative impact in my opinion i.e. smaller distribution power, less promotion etc.
minus52 Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 it wouldn't work, sure everyone hates warner, me included, but they aren't stopping green day from doing anything, are they?
ferryfan Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 it wouldn't work, sure everyone hates warner, me included, but they aren't stopping green day from doing anything, are they?I agree, because i'm sure that Green Day can basically decide what they want to do and when they want to do it at this stage.
