Woodstock isn't woodstock if it's not in woodstock

I think the spirit of the thing is more important, mate. But agreed, it would be nice if it could also be in Woodstock.

personally, I think that it would be great even though if it's not in Woodstock.

Especially for you!

If it's in Germany but a part that's too far away...ooh, I'm going to be mad then. And they mentioned Berlin as a possibility in the article, which is probably too far away. Oh well, it's not even sure there's a Woodstock coming anyway.

But for example berlin would be too far away, i think even for me. i live in NRW, not far away from the netherlands. my parents had to bring me to berlin, and i don't know if they'd do so :/

Woodstock isn't as special anymore. It seems like they have those things every couple years. Woodstock '69 and Woodstock '94 are the only true ones to me. '69 had the classics. '94 had the new generation. '09 will have to have the newest generation of awesome. Only then will I like it.

I agree. Who would they put on the bill anyway to do it justice? It's not the same as, say, Reading & Leeds, they're on every year and everyone plays at it. Woodstock is more of an icon that comes up every couple of decades and represent an era. Could they have something like Fall Out Boy or Panic At The Disco as one of the main bands? I think not. It would be a disgrace to the woodstock name.

Green Day performing live can only ever be a good thing :sherlock:

True to that :sherlock:

Obviusly. The german people have rock am ring and bizarre festivals, why more?

We don't have bizarre anymore, i think.

I don't really like the idea of another woodstock with Green Day. And mudstock part 2 would suck massive balls.

They won't just duplicate themselves anyways.

After '94, I'd definitely try to go to it

Are people forgetting the last one? Never mind 94, what about the last one where they charged 6 bucks for a bottle of water, there wasn't adequate bathrooms, and people had to get helicoptered out of there because of all the rape and pillaging. People were setting stuff on fire, raping women, it was awful. If they attempt to do this again, they need to do it right. Maybe only charge admission and make the food and water reasonably priced. Or better yet, don't charge anything, let it be a pilgrimage, and those that want to play show up. Like the original one. I dont even think they were paid, but I could be wrong about that... it's just lost its original meaning. I think it's crap now :/ the intent behind it is just like the intent behind everything else: MONEY :(

so right. but for us, who weren't old enough in '69 or '94, it would be something like this again. but not under the name of woodstock. woodstock was something really special. trying to copy it would kill it's original thought.

even if green day would play there again, it wouldn't be a second mudstock. it would just be a normal gig.

mudstock was unique and made out of the situation in '94. i don't think, anyone would try to copy this.

I'd so go to that, so many good bands played there in the past, I just hope good bands would play this time round.
