Jynx it up Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 unrelated, but how much would a good record player go for?Depends on if you want new or used, or crappy or great and what features you want. But it could go from like $50-300
Sanah Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 I don't have much to contribute to the thread other than saying that this is awesome.Also...Its a shame. This post makes me go "LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL."That is all.

sharon mitchell Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 They even smell good .....First ones are out next week - I cannot wait!
Jynx it up Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 First ones are out next week - I cannot wait!Awesome. I'll get some of the reissue ones, but I want to see if I could still find some originals. There are a bunch of flea markets around me...This is off topic, but does anyone know if a black 1,000 hours 45 off of Lookout would be worth anything?I mean, there's no way I'm going to sell it, I love it. I'm just a bit curious, and wanting to know if the $7.50 I paid for it was worth it. XD

Originals were in paper sleeves, reissues in cardboard, as far as I know. Still not the easiest thing to find though. At least not for me XD But yeah an original will be far more valuble - it also depends on what address it has on the sleeve. The oldest it is, the more valuble.

Definitely worth it, i'd say

Fuzz Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 I thought they mentioned that with the "Greatest hits" thing? Maybe not.
Greenday_Aussie Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Nimrod, Dookie and 21st Century are right up their on my list. Im gonna track the original AI 2 vinyl set down too. Im about to buy either Holiday or WMUWSE picture disk, its a massive bargin. I'll have them framed
.Brian Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 the vinyls are now also on amazon.de (as us-imports).i'm so fuckin' happy but i've one question: do i have to pay import fees or something like that if it's an us-import from amazon.de ?

Guest Shangri-La Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 EDIT: I looked it up and 140 is normal. But Dookie is going to be 180g, has it been released on 180g before?Yep. Dookie's already on 180.39/smooth has only been released on 120G. Last I checked. Kerplunk might be the same.Nah, those versions will probably go up in value, if anything. People will still want the originals. And there some people out there who want the vinyls but can't afford to spent hundreds on them, myself includedI have a feeling the value will increase too. Elvis Costello's stuff gets re-released pretty much every year and the older the vinyl the more value it has.
GTI Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Yep. Dookie's already on 180.39/smooth has only been released on 120G. Last I checked. Kerplunk might be the same.Kerplunk! and 39/Smooth will both be 120g this time also.I plan on getting them all and having them framed.
J'net Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Kerplunk! and 39/Smooth will both be 120g this time also.I plan on getting them all and having them framed.I think those are going to be on 140g ... even better for those of us who plan to listen to them
farley drexel hatcher Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 I wish there was somewhere within the UK I could preorder the Kerplunk vinyl from. I really can't afford the shipping from the US at the moment but I don't want to wait till next month
GTI Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 I think those are going to be on 140g ... even better for those of us who plan to listen to them I went ahead and preordered them from the Warner Bros Records Store and it lists them as 120g on the site and as well as on the order form, yet the businesswire.com article lists them as 140g...Will it say on the case, once I get it, which type it is?
