Jynx it up Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 AW this is awesome. I've always wanted to buy a few Green Day vinyls! Again, this kills the rarity Are singles gonna be released too? In a way I'd like that, but in a way that totally kills rarities. Another question: approximately how much are record players? (USD is fine) And where could I buy one? I've always wanted one but never found a good reason to buy one.Record players could be from like $60-300 depending on what kind you want. There are some that convert vinyls into cd, and such.
J'net Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 ^that is EXACTLY what happens! The one I have does that, too, but as a record player, I'm not that pleased with the quality. So, I'm looking around now.
Greenday_Aussie Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 So vinyls really do sound better then CDs?
Ila Reto Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 http://www.businesswire.com/portal/site/go...amp;newsLang=enThis has a bit more info, and this bit was interesting:In addition, Reprise will also release a boxed set of Green Day singles culled from the band's entire career, including those from their alter egos Foxboro Hot Tubs and The Network, as well as B-sides, international tracks, and live tracks, on July 21st.I guess they really are playing up to the 20 years of Green Day thingahhh sweet they're involving the network & fht as well. AND phgp is re-releasing their albums soon too. this is going to be the official year that i go completely broke....and still need more to buy the rest. anybody want to donate to the "alanna needs these albums or she'll go insane knowing that there's merch out there that she doesnt have" fund?
Jynx it up Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 The one I have does that, too, but as a record player, I'm not that pleased with the quality. So, I'm looking around now.Oh, okay. I have one that does do that, and the quality of mine is amazing. I guess it all just depends on the brand.
NickD Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 I'll probably buy them all next November so i can give them to my girlfriend for our 2 year anniversary. shes a vinyl person, and loves green day.
J'net Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Oh, okay. I have one that does do that, and the quality of mine is amazing. I guess it all just depends on the brand. So, what brand and model is yours?I plan on trying to buy all the reissues, so I'd like something really nice to listen to them on.
The Disappearing Boy Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 i actually think this is pretty cool. what with vinyls coming back into fashion and whatnot.
sharon mitchell Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 The new vinyls are bound to have some distinguishing factor to tell them apart from the old issues, so the old ones will not lose their value. My precious Nimrod was a bargain, but a lot of the old stuff is way beyond the pockets of younger fans, so at least they will have a chance to experience the wonder that is vinyl at a reasonable cost.I have a full set of original vinyls (including a green Dookie and a purple International Superhits) but I still want these new issues to add to my collection. This year just happens to be my 50th birthday, and my man is buying me each release as it comes out - I get a present a month for virtually a whole year! I knew I married him for a reason.
.Brian Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 you can pre-order the vinyls on amazon.com now. the price is abou 20 $ (wich is really expensive i think).i wonder that they aren't on amazon.de, it would totally suck if they weren't released in germany.
Boston Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Meh. I don't even have a record player, so I'm not too concerned about this.you can pre-order the vinyls on amazon.com now. the price is abou 20 $ (wich is really expensive i think). No, that's pretty cheap.
.Brian Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Meh. I don't even have a record player, so I'm not too concerned about this. No, that's pretty cheap.if you compare with the orignial vinyls, you're right. last week i saw a kerplunk vynil for 160 $but for me as a poor pupil, who wants to buy all of them it's really expensive. i wonder what the price of the single box will be. does anyone the fuck know if the vinyls will be released worldwide?
Jynx it up Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 So, what brand and model is yours?I plan on trying to buy all the reissues, so I'd like something really nice to listen to them on. Mine is a TEAC LP-R400, I believe
