sutureself Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 well, if the arrangement IS jason white on ~lead guitar. go jason! he is so under-appreciated. well, all the extra green day band members are.
Jaymee!! Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I think it would be a little obnoxious taking it everywhereYeah it costs a lot and It'll make them look like coldplay.Ya kids are aboot tuh get schooled:
IzButt Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Aww I was kinda looking forward to seeing Billie play D:This guy better be good C:
greenbear Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 This is probably just bacause the new songs have much more guitar in them than the older stuff. (and they've probably dropped Mike Pelino ) And if performing them live is going to be exhausting then maybe Billie wants to pass lead guitar duties over for some of the tracks to give himself a bit of a rest. I still really hope he still plays lead on some of the new songs and I'd love him to play more live guitar solos. I'd like him to show off his guitar skills on stage not do less. And yay! for Jools Holland and a 19 month tour Maybe that's why its going to be exhausting!
CarmenPunkGirl Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 this will make them look like coldplay i don't want a new band member. jason white and the other guys that were on AI tour were ok....but not another one
M1KEY Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 LMAO at the "it would be too difficult and annoying to carry a real piano with them" posts.Like, were you guys serious? Do you have any idea the amount of equipment they bring on tour with them??? The dozens of guitars, the huge amplifiers, the drum kits, the lighting, the banners, the monitors, the stage itself in some cases.... but adding a piano, well, clearly that's just too much for Green Day. HAHAHA Omg you kids just kill me sometimes.this will make them look like coldplay i don't want a new band member. jason white and the other guys that were on AI tour were ok....but not another oneSo.... what about the extra member on the AI tour then? I don't believe Jason was the only guitarist during songs like St. Jimmy. I recall seeing another dude. And you just said that the touring members on the AI tour were fine, so why now do you have such an issue?I think the expression the kids use today is: PWNED
Greenday_Aussie Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 He engknowledged the fact that there were more guitar players then just Jason. Mike was there too.
Foxboro Hot Tubs Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 So.... what about the extra member on the AI tour then? I don't believe Jason was the only guitarist during songs like St. Jimmy. I recall seeing another dude. And you just said that the touring members on the AI tour were fine, so why now do you have such an issue?if I'm not mistaken that was Mike Pelino
greendayfan518 Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Don't you all worry about Billie. He knows what he's doing! I'm sure Billie will still play guitar for a lot of the show and on the songs that he doesn't, just remember......No guitar = more time to interact with the crowd!
Where's the Beef? Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 They will play it all...just like they did w/ AII hope they do a whole club tour...I think they might...May-July Why not? Like they did w/ AI?
drumstick Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 wowI didn't expect this lolbut I love when Billie is moving and jumping around on the stage...also i loooove to see him playing guitar!I don't know...I just don't want him to stop playing guitar.
novacaine_kid Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 i hope that they still find time in their sets to play old stuff. im sure the new stuff will sound great but im a bit worried they will neglect the old classics a bit too much
Mato Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I'd rather see him playing guitar, but I guess this will be interesting too. :/
Alan86 Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I wonder is this because they said they were having problems playing "21st century breakdown" in its entirety?? I hope its not true
Tiffx Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I just want to see Billie playing guitar. So as long as he continues to play the majority of songs well... all is good.
Kaddi. Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 This is the opposite of what I hoped for. I think it would be nice to see him playing other instruments... like piano for example... and now they tell us that he doesn't wanna play the guitar and that Jason White will do this.I like Billie jumping around and stuff, but nevertheless: Bad news
crislostinvictory Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m302/mi...es/greenday.jpgTheres the photo somebody posted on his page.. Wether thats taking the piss or not, who knows...To be honest, i'd take it as a rumour for now even though the blog seems pretty serious.Green Day know tons of guitar players, so i cant see why they'd pick some randomer.. Surely most of their buddies are in bands, and they would of picked one of their friends.I think we should just wait and see.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 and I think the only people who want to look like Coldplay are the people in ColdplayEw.
kvnie Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I haven't looked at the article yet but i'm guessing it's kind of like Mike Pelino on the AI tour? He played for Billie during certain songs so Billie could interact more with the audience. I kind of hope Billie plays the majority of the songs, thoughAlso no way will it be going onto "U2 territory". Bono just stands there. No he doesn't,Bono dances around like a madman.
drumstick Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I think it would be nice to see him playing other instruments... like piano for example...that would be awesome
Foxboro Hot Tubs Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I think Billie Joe and in general Green Day know what they're doing, and they are doing it for a special reason. So if Billie Joe doesn't want to play guitar all the time .. why notand I don't think he won't play at all.I really really really hope they will play some of the old material. I've never been on a Green Day concert and I really wanna see something of the old stuff, although a record in its entirety would be awesome too.If they're not going to play anything of the old material, for sure they'll have a reason for it. and it's not important what I want, it's important what they want.
DistilledxSpirits Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 If he doesn't play at all then I won't be going to see them... I just hate the idea of him standing there without his guitar around his neck for an entire show.It just doesn't seemvery... I don't know... Green Day-ish? lolI guess I just love the old basic set up where it was just Billie, Tre and Mike.It was so much simpler then... so much better.
Tripe Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Wow, lots of people up in ams about this! I don't think it's any big deal, I just think this guy is the Mike Pelino replacement. Billie Joe will be playing his guitar as much as he was during the AI tour. And if someone else already said this in the last three pages, my apologies. I got tired of reading at about page 6.I think it's cool they pulled someone else from Little Rock that Jason W recommended. I wonder who else they considered? Kevin Preston? I'll bet he was not willing to leave Prima Donna for 19 months.
