I'm not saying they're bad, because Green Day is my favorite band, I'm just saying they aren't complex. I know you're not arguing with me, you're just stating a fact.

I am sure Billie will not abandon his guitar. It will probably be very similar to how it was on the AI tour. There were times where he coulda been playing, but he wasnt he was being a frontman. I am sure it will be fine.Not to mention Billie said in a recent article that he would love to play the album all the way thru, and then mentioned about being exhausted after the first two acts and then said how it was interesting how they did their most physical album in their mid thirties. Break of Day Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 It's not that Billie isn't a very good guitarist, because even as simple as it is, it sound good. It's that for Green Day he doesn't need to do anything too impressive. I'd dislike it if they changed that much, going from simple Green Day songs to complex bullshit that doesn't fit their style...I compare billie's guitar skills to John Mayer's. John Mayer is a sellout (not my comparison) who plays bullshit pop music on his records but then rocks out during concerts, plays what he really wants. He could probably write some REALLY good blues songs if he wanted but he just wants to get rich, so he plays pop. Billie just plays simple stuff now but if he wanted to he could still write more interesting, complex guitar riffs like he used to. He has potential, he just doesn't use it. And there's a million guitarists in the world who can make 3-4 chords sound "good" which is just an opinion. Billie never took lessons and from what I can tell from learning his solos, he only knows like 2-3 scales. He is not very educated and he doesn't write very talented music, guitar wise. The guitar just isn't the focus for the most part. So yeah, I do think it is that Billie isn't a very good guitarist. All he does is use power chords. I think WMUWSE is like the only song where billie uses a minor chord, (or maybe misery) and he knows some open chords. He is not a good guitarist. You might listen to green day and be like "Whoa that sounds awesome billie rules!" Youtube some zeppelin and compare that to billie joe. Jimmy Page was/is a very good guitarist. Billie is not.

(late) haha.COMPLETELY agree!I don't get why the hell everyone's so pissed off.If it makes it easier on their part, so be it.We should just be happy that we're getting an album and a 19 month tour.And besides.The more the merrier!
