21st Century Breakdown - Your First Listen

My plan is to do what I've never done before - skip school. Then , my parents and I would probably go to Best-Buy and I'd get the CD and try to contain myself. (Yes, my parents would do that for me. I think. ) Then I'd get home, put the CD into my computer, and listen away. Then I'd come on here and discuss it.

If I can't leave school that day, I'm placing a bet on the fact that my parents will surprise me by going out and buying it for me, and giving it to me once I get home. (And once I pay them back for it.)

I might even eat Lucky Charms that day for breakfast, because one of the marshmellows is a horseshoe, and one of the three acts in 21stCB is Horseshoes and Handgrenades. I'm pathetic, I know.

once i make my way to the store to get it...ill be stoned on the way there, stoned on the way back and ill roll up a jurassic monkey to fire up while i listen first, at a respectable volume, followed by a neighbor-annoying volume for the rest of the day...and more pot. truly, a green day.

Depends how we get it first. If it leaks (which is prob will) - I will stick it on my ipod, then hook it up to my stereo system. I will then put on my really nice headphones and listen. I'll prob also dim the lights in my room as well, so I can get engulfed in the music/story.

If it doesn't leak...well then I guess I'll use my download code at midnight, and listen while being sleep deprived and giddy.

That'd be an awesome idea. Since I got my special edition and am getting the digi download for it too... I'm getting up early to get the download and be on here at the same time. I wish there was some kind of midnight release party somewhere... but there's not.

I'm not going to listen to it if it leaks. What if the quality isn't the greatest or something? I'd rather hear it at its best for the first time. If it leaks, I'll download it just in case there's something different about the leaked version that I might want to listen to later, but I won't listen to the new album until May 15.

What purpose does it have to hook it up to your stereo and listen through headphones? Or do you mean, the first time on the stereo, the second time with headphones?

So BTW what is the time difference between there and here? I'm thinking if they're releasing the download at 12:01 Pacific Time, that's going to be 2:01am for me (Central Time). I'm only going to be able to attend because I'm going to take the day off work. What time would that be in Norway?

Uhmmm, well the 15th May is my sisters wedding So if it arrives that day i more than likely wont get to listen to it until late at night, but im gonna be the only person in the house MAYBE .. so im thinking i'll blast it during the early hours for all to hear

As far as audio quality goes, it doesn't. You are right. It would only be better if i had a CD of it in the stereo, and the headphones. However, I always have my ipod hooked up to my stereo (i play music through it).

That's the only reason why.

I may actually be able to let my mom let me stay home from school, so I won't have to play sick in order to get out

I plan on getting up around 7:30 or 8 AM, going out and having a nice relaxed breakfast, and then go to one of the local stores as soon as it opens to get it. But I still have to find out those stores is opening the earliest.

When I get home I'll listen to the album alone in my room and I'll borrow my dad's HD headphones to get the most out of the first listen. I'll listen to it one act at a time, and after each one ends I'll take a quick break just to let everything I listened to soak in. After it's all over I'll read the lyrics and look at the artwork, then listen to it a few more times before ripping the cd onto my iPod. I'm hoping that my parents don't bother me at all that day. Because I'd REALLY want to be alone haha.

I actually have one now, through my cheap shitty walkman that I share fond memories with. I use to stay up till 3am (fuck Im 16 and cant make it that far anymore..well, only when Im out) and draw. I remember me and my mate in primary school use to muck around all day listening to AI, JOS, Holiday, BOBD and St.Jimmy and maybe September?....and thats as far as we made it!! All the others "Sucked, wtf this sounds weird, chuck it back to AI! " So one night I went the whole way. Fucking hell, what we'd missed out on. I had heard the first couple of seconds of AWWATW and Extrodinary Girl, but this one night I heard all the songs. Wow.

So maybe I'll do that again, but I'll deffiantly listen in the cheap, low quality goodness of mah old Walkman. It even does a cool trick where if you get the headphone cable into the right position of taking it out of the jack slightly, it cuts the lead vocals and you only hear the instruments and backup vocals!

CA state polls are on the Tuesday after the album is released. Since I'm volunteering, I'm going to bring my iPod and force everyone there to listen to it, so it will be a lot of people's first time there but not my first. I will probably lock myself in my room when I get the album and just lay on my bed and listen.
