21st Century Breakdown - Your First Listen

Oh my I can't wait for this day. I'll probably wake up obsenely early due to excitement, and catch the 8am bus to Bury St. Edmunds, buy the CD, and catch the next bus home. All the way home I'll fight the urge to look in the booklet, and listen to some vintage Green Day. In fact I'll listen to as much Green Day as possible in the days running up to this

At home I'll have something delicious to eat ready for if I get peckish while I'm listening, possibly cheesecake. Then I'll sit back and listen to it , then I'll listen again . Then I'll get the booklet out and have a good look, and listen while reading the lyrics. Repeat many times.

Your plan sounds a lot like mine except for the bus ride and the cheesecake (the eating is definitely a factor, though). Oh, and the sister - I've got no sister to share with, but I have a good friend at work and a fellow GDC'er here in Tulsa who should both be about as excited as I am about the "Green Day wonderfulness."

Haha, taking a day off from school in May is hardly a big deal (unless I have an exam of course), so it's definitely worth it.

That would be one hellish long school day Going to school that day is just not worth it for me.

Missing school/work to listen is a bit stupid, I mean I'm looking forwards to hearing it but I won't go that far. Just remember that it's only an album and even though it is Green Day there's no point doing anything too extreme.

why skip school to listen to music, even though you do nothing in May, i wouldn't i would get up early to get to the postman before school and quickly shove it on my ipod and listen to it in school if i were that desperate, but i can wait to listen to it til i get home.

Well... The day the new album arrives I will... be probably sitting exams :/ But whatever. I'll come back home after that ordeal and put the CD (previously unpacked) into my CD player so that I could simply cut myself from all the world around me. I'll close my eyes and just listen...

And, as far as I know myself, I'll start to cry xD

Well a near overdose now and then might be good for me, and maybe I deserve it. My arteries are in good shape so I'm not worried about the breakfast. And, as much as I am a person who can become easily jaded from over-listening, one day isn't going to do it. I'll be careful after that, I promise!

My usual breakfast is yogurt with some toasted pecans, so you can see why I might get excited about this one.

I'm planning on going to pick up my best friend pretty early in the morning, and then we're going to wait outside FYE for it to open and buy the album.

At which point, she has to immediately open the cd for me, because I'll be spazzing too much, and we're gonna run out to my car, put it in the cd player... and listen to it in it's entirety in total silence while reading the lyrics and learning them.

We're going to take the day off of work to do all this.

I'm excited.

I will wake up early, or I'll just stay on GDC for hours straight til the event. Then I'll go to the mall, rush to the cd store thing, buy the cd, rush home, and blast it so loud in my room that it'll sound like a party. Then I'll take out the booklet to read the lyrics, and stare at a pic of the guys while singing along. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
