Hermione Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Oh my I can't wait for this day. I'll probably wake up obsenely early due to excitement, and catch the 8am bus to Bury St. Edmunds, buy the CD, and catch the next bus home. All the way home I'll fight the urge to look in the booklet, and listen to some vintage Green Day. In fact I'll listen to as much Green Day as possible in the days running up to this At home I'll have something delicious to eat ready for if I get peckish while I'm listening, possibly cheesecake. Then I'll sit back and listen to it , then I'll listen again . Then I'll get the booklet out and have a good look, and listen while reading the lyrics. Repeat many times. At some point I'll ring my sister and we'll discuss what we've heard at great length, and I'll come on here which I imagine will be quite enjoyable. And then the months of Green Day wonderfulness will begin!

Oh, and the sister - I've got no sister to share with, but I have a good friend at work and a fellow GDC'er here in Tulsa who should both be about as excited as I am about the "Green Day wonderfulness."
chickin'pickin' Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Good That sounds cool, I just mean it seems silly to lock yourself away to obsessively listen to the album for ages. And what's your favorite breakfast? It's also a bad idea to overdose on it.
chewychorizo Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 i can't believe some of you are taking days off school for this, manit's not like... idk... jesus is coming or whatever. just an album coming out
J'net Posted March 3, 2009 Author Posted March 3, 2009 It's also a bad idea to overdose on it.Do you mean the album or the breakfast???
chewychorizo Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 its twice as important as jesus coming back!i was just trying to find an example of something a little bit more important than an album i'll probably just go into town straight from school and take it back.
J'net Posted March 3, 2009 Author Posted March 3, 2009 its twice as important as jesus coming back!At least!!!
AfroDite Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 The relase of 21st Century Breakdown would be great!I think i have my exam that day, but hey, fuck that!Or i coud pre-order it, hmm, maybe.I think the first listen would be like a orgasm, it was like that when i heard 21st Century Breakdown the first time.Looking forward to the big day!
Ingrid Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 i can't believe some of you are taking days off school for this, manit's not like... idk... jesus is coming or whatever. just an album coming outHaha, taking a day off from school in May is hardly a big deal (unless I have an exam of course), so it's definitely worth it.This isn't something that happens every other day. Geez

Geez eh aye, but it gives you something to think about at school : )
Ingrid Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 eh aye, but it gives you something to think about at school : )That would be one hellish long school day Going to school that day is just not worth it for me.I wanna have the entire day free to celebrate the new album, and I can't wait =)
chickin'pickin' Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 It's a pathetic excuse to skip school.And J'Net either works..
Haz Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Missing school/work to listen is a bit stupid, I mean I'm looking forwards to hearing it but I won't go that far. Just remember that it's only an album and even though it is Green Day there's no point doing anything too extreme.
Ingrid Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Haha, you people obviously don't know what my school is like. We don't do shit in May, so I'm not gonna miss out on anything if I skip one day. It's not a big deal.So stop making me feel guilty about it!
Welshy Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 WWBJDwhat would billie joe do? he would skip school to buy a op ivy album wouldn't he
Ally Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 why skip school to listen to music, even though you do nothing in May, i wouldn't i would get up early to get to the postman before school and quickly shove it on my ipod and listen to it in school if i were that desperate, but i can wait to listen to it til i get home.

That's why :wink:But hey, that's just me.I'm not gonna make any of you guys skip school...
Lena-Strychnine Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Well... The day the new album arrives I will... be probably sitting exams :/ But whatever. I'll come back home after that ordeal and put the CD (previously unpacked) into my CD player so that I could simply cut myself from all the world around me. I'll close my eyes and just listen...And, as far as I know myself, I'll start to cry xD
J'net Posted March 3, 2009 Author Posted March 3, 2009 It's a pathetic excuse to skip school. And J'Net either works.. Well a near overdose now and then might be good for me, and maybe I deserve it. My arteries are in good shape so I'm not worried about the breakfast. And, as much as I am a person who can become easily jaded from over-listening, one day isn't going to do it. I'll be careful after that, I promise!
Farah Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 i dont know what i'll do, but i'm surely gonna be excited!
captain peroxide Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Eggs scrambled with whatever's in the fridge and topped with sour cream and salsaHash browns (these could be my personal downfall)Bacon (ditto - loooove bacon)Toast with homemade strawberry jamCoffeeMimosas (pitcher of)My usual breakfast is yogurt with some toasted pecans, so you can see why I might get excited about this one. That sounds absolutely delicious. I don't blame you for getting excited for the album release. But from now on, I'll know it's all about the breakfast.
J'net Posted March 3, 2009 Author Posted March 3, 2009 That sounds absolutely delicious. I don't blame you for getting excited for the album release. But from now on, I'll know it's all about the breakfast. Yeah, now you know my secret ... well one of them, anyway .
Mommy's Little Nightmare Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 I'm planning on going to pick up my best friend pretty early in the morning, and then we're going to wait outside FYE for it to open and buy the album. At which point, she has to immediately open the cd for me, because I'll be spazzing too much, and we're gonna run out to my car, put it in the cd player... and listen to it in it's entirety in total silence while reading the lyrics and learning them. We're going to take the day off of work to do all this. I'm excited.
badwolf Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 I will wake up early, or I'll just stay on GDC for hours straight til the event. Then I'll go to the mall, rush to the cd store thing, buy the cd, rush home, and blast it so loud in my room that it'll sound like a party. Then I'll take out the booklet to read the lyrics, and stare at a pic of the guys while singing along. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
