Yeah, my plan for the first listen to the album was to listen to it and enjoy it. I don't really see why there needs to be anything other than that goin' on.

Hahaha - then for you there doesn't need to be anything more going on. In essence, that's exactly what I'm going to do. I'm just surrounding that event with some other fun treats. Some of us are just different :).

For my plan, I have made a slight adjustment:

When I told my son I was planning to kick everyone out of the house, he looked at me with puppy dog eyes. He said, "You mean if I wanted to sit and listen to it with you, you'd say no?" What could I do? So now, I'm going to be social while listening the first few times (but then he'll have to go to work, and I'll have it to myself :).

The rest of my plan is still pretty much the same, though. I'm very much looking forward to it. Even if I'm disappointed by the album (which is NOT what I expect), I'll still have my mimosas and other fun special treats to make my day happy!

I've stolen a few other people's excellent idea - starting the evening before and continuing in the morning I'm listening to all their albums in order, finishing with Foxboro Hot Tubs on the bus journey there and back

Getting the bus to Bury St. Edmunds to buy it in the morning (and HMV still hasn't opened so I'll have to get off at Tescos instead and have really far to walk ), then instead of going straight home I'm delivering a copy across town to my sister and saying hello to my nephew before I get the bus back. We both want to listen alone the first time so I'll be leaving promptly :D. Then back home for Green Day and the cheesecake I currently have waiting in my freezer.

Writing that will help stave off my urge to listen early for a while. My brother's listening to it upstairs right now :/

Maybe the HMV will open next week just for you!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed. Either way, we both know Green Day is worth a really long walk and more :).

Go to school, while being on school listening all the albums in chronological order (wait, I don't know if I've got enough time for that...hmm, I'll work on that part, otherwise I might skip one.), go from school to the record shop, buy it, run home and hopefully steal my parents CD player, otherwise, become desperate because my own CD player will probably refuse to play it for at least 10 minutes (that happened when I bought Dookie, it kept on saying that there wasn't a CD in it ), and listen. Hopefully repeat, or maybe I have to go to a stupid training with BBQ in the late afternoon. Oh joy. I think I might suddenly feel very sick around, say, 5:30 pm.

1. Enter the metro.

2. Enter Saturn. (CD-Store)

3. Buy Album and a lot of other ramdom shit.

4. Do a weird dance after me and my mom left the store.

5. Mom will ask me if I have serious psychical injuries.

6. Will answer "no".

7. Have to go to several other stores before I can get home again.

8. Will listen to the album in it's entirety in my room.

9. Will probably love it and listen to it over and over.

10. Be here until I get too tired and will listen to it again in my sleep.

Haha of course I will probably be skipping along the street once I have that album in my hand! There's a strong likelihood that bloody HMV will open the monday after though, booo!

But nah I'm really looking forward to going to buy it. When I first got into Green Day in 2005 I made myself wait like a month in between buying each album so I could savour the experience with each one. Can't wait to finally get to do it again

Well, since the album's already leaked (and I've already listened to some songs early), I don't see any reason to wait until the 15th to listen to it. So tomorrow (since I'm planning on staying home and relaxing), I'm going to listen to every Green Day album I have (all except 1039SOSH) in chronological order, and then stream the whole album on my computer in one sitting.

But don't forget to say thanks to your dad :).

Of course, I forgot to mention the "throw my arms around my dad thanking him for ten minutes" part of my plan. :D And knowing me, as soon as I see the CD, my hands'll start shaking, so it really will take that long to wrestle with the goddamn wrapper. xD

well.

i plan on coming home from school, opening up the mailbox, and seeing it is there...

walking very casually up to the house (sprinting),

making myself some tea, and bracing myself for what lies ahead in the next hour & however long.

put the album in the cd player...

turn it up to 80% (these speakers are HUGE)

and listen to it until the music has formed a groove in my mind.

: )

Like I do with every new album. Pop it into my CD player and relax.

I have this strange feeling that once I do buy the cd, I'll come home and sort of put off listening to it. idk, it could partly because I still can't believe there's finally a new Green Day album, and I think a subconscious part of me is almost sad that the waiting is over. I know this makes no sense, but I've done it before with other albums.

I really don't understand myself sometimes. :/

I can kind of understand what you mean. For me this is a huge event. With all the news and excitement leading up to it, it's almost like it's too much. I think that's one reason why I want to wait for the release date to listen. Then I can make it a more calm experience. Because there's been so much adrenalin pumping through me lately, I feel like I might spontaneously blast off into outer space if I'm not careful.

That's exactly it! I couldn't have listened the first time when the leak suddenly happened the other night with everyone (including me) going crazy about it. Not when I know how much more enjoyable it'll be to sit down, relax and listen after my leisurely trip to buy it. Listening now would be like opening my christmas presents early.

I'm still a virgin.

I know, it was like February, when I was like "OMG 21CB!!!" But now I'm like... so soon? Also, summer's coming and I know I won't be missing anything (school) during that time :D
