.Holly Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Surely the tour dates will be out by May 15!!!! Tell me they're not going to make us wait any longer than that .I jolly well hope so, I want to start planning my summer! I want to go to at least 2 gigs, maybe even 3 or 4, so I may just have to follow them around Europe cos I doubt they'll play that many shows in the UK. I missed the two Milton Keyens gigs, so have to make up for it! We can live in hope though
bass boy Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 i think ill just go to my room, suround my self with everything green day, and listen

I missed the two Milton Keyens gigs, so have to make up for it! We can live in hope though I was on a conference call at work today, and people were saying, "How much notice should we give them? If we send the notice tomorrow for the 15th, that's only 5 weeks!!!" I almost responded inappropriately .But yeah, I want to make as many shows as I can this summer and having the tour dates before the release would really help.
thisisAB Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Some people on here were saying how they wanna listen to the songs first before reading the lyrics. I really don't know if I should read them. To me they won't really make sense until I actually listen to the album. I'm also hoping the artwork that's on the site be in the album booklet. I'm kinda trying to save it (I've only looked at Know Your Enemy so far) for the album, really impressing. I'll probabaly save the images on my computer in case the band happens to remove them form their website.
Kate Austen Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Me thinks..some people will hear this before May 15th. Best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.
thisisAB Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 AH you know what, fuck that. I'm looked at the artwork. I've always loved grafitti, this is pretty intense. I'm not gonna read the lyrics yet though.
J'net Posted April 13, 2009 Author Posted April 13, 2009 Me thinks..some people will hear this before May 15th. Best laid plans of mice and men often go awry. Well, yeah, some people have already heard it. But I'm not one of them . And I won't be hearing it before then unless someone from management offers me an advance copy or some such unlikely scenario .

Just how everyone is talking about on May 15th (their plans to listen for the first time) - but I think some will break, and listen to a leak.

Just how everyone is talking about on May 15th (their plans to listen for the first time) - but I think some will break, and listen to a leak.Hahaha - some won't even have to break - some are eagerly looking forward to a leak and already know they will listen as soon as it comes out . And of course, some who've said here that they won't listen will probably change their minds. That's okay, but I won't be one of them.

And of course, some who've said here that they won't listen will probably change their minds. That's okay, but I won't be one of them.I've come to the point where I always listen to leaks. For me, a leak is actually more exciting then a release date. Especially when they are random and unexpected. Or even when they are expected (when someone announces they will leak something) - the anticipation. Leaks for me are also a useful tool. I will listen to a leak, and if I like the album - I buy it. Yes, I know everyone says this. But I mean it, I buy 90% of everything I download (if it's good). If it's bad, I just delete it. Now, this won't really apply to Green Day, because I've liked everything they have put out. You start to expect a consistency with really good bands. However, the album is done, and really we are only waiting because of promotion, and production. I've already pre-ordered the $100 + version (after tax). I know that doesn't entitled me to anything. In fact, I would never help or encourage anyone to leak Green Day material. But, IMO it is a sad inevitable. So if it leaks, I'm downloading. So I guess my plans for a first listen will prob change somewhat. We''ll see. Depends on how it all goes down. Maybe Green Day will do the impossible, and their album won't leak. Warner sure seems tight enough.

Warner sure seems tight enough.I can understand all your reasoning. I really see both sides with this. I could easily be eagerly waiting for a leak and determined to listen to it if it appeared. I'm certainly just as excited about getting to hear the new music as anyone. But, I just think that, when I weigh things in the balance, I'll get more pleasure out of following my plan (knowing that I have already downloaded any leaks for my future enjoyment ). It's just a selfish thing with me - I'm suiting myself. And, as for wishing for a leak, I'm with you, I think it's a sad inevitable, but I don't wish for it. I can't help but think how the band feels knowing that they have no control over something that is so precious to them. But, as tight a grip as Warner has, once they ship all those CDs out to reviewers and to shops so they'll have them in time for the May 15 release, their grip has loosened, and anything can happen. And it will. I'm glad there were no major leaks before the first live shows, though. That, at least, is somewhat of a victory. The band got to introduce the songs to a small group of people before any of the general public had heard them, and that must feel good to them.
rinu Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 i'll come from school buy cd while i was going home listen it next .... days(i dont know how many days) continously

DeJennsitized Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Heh, change of plan. I've just realised the day of the album release is the same day as my first GCSE exam..fail!But it's only a 35-minute Spanish listening test, though...which actually works out better - I'll be out of school by 10am, so I'll walk straight to HMV from school and get the album, come home and listen to it on my bed
louizex Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I am SO unlucky. My first exam is may 15th.and its MATHS!so, my plan for the day, do (and probobly fail) maths exam, run to hmv and buy the cdthen study for my next exam, which is a week later
The Grateful Green Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 i pre-ordered it. i hope i will get it the day it comes out. if i dont then ill be very mad and probablly just download it off limeiwre untill i actually get cd:lol:
Clockwise Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 First post. Anyway, what i'll do release day will be one o two things:If I skip school (only 4 more absences and I lose credit):Wake up when I want to, go get it right when I wake up and sit on my floor listening to it/reading the lyrics. If I don't skip school:Get home at 2:30, go to FYE at 3 and then purchase it. Maybe listen to like the first two tracks in the car, maybe not.I'm so pumped for this album. It's going to be great.
Deniz. Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Your English is fine! I understand everything you say .is that a joke? ..i hope not..

The vast majority of us are also SO pumped for this album, and I agree - it's going to be great.is that a joke? ..i hope not.. Of course not, why would I joke about that? I do understand everything you say (so far...).
Deniz. Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Of course not, why would I joke about that? I do understand everything you say (so far...).maybe you laugh me down or something =D ..no, you don't. that makes me happy
J'net Posted April 13, 2009 Author Posted April 13, 2009 maybe you laugh me down or something =D ..no, you don't. that makes me happy I understand how hard it is to learn other languages - I've learned French, Spanish, and German to an extent and forgotten almost all I know of all of them. You are doing much better than I ever did with any of those languages!
Eighty. Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I think it was friday but I'm not sure that the CD is going to be out the 15th anyway I am going to the biggest mall in the city by train with 2 or 3 friends in the afternoon, after the school of course I asked my mum if she can buy it in the morning but she said no well, I'll come to the music shop and I will find the Cd I think I am going to scream or something like that, everytime I buy something that is related with green day I cry and scream, the people will look at my and my friends will stop me so I'll take the record and I'll buy it I will pass the rest of the day in the Mall but I am going to be wanting to come to home to can Listen the CD, god everytime that I imagine this situation I become nervous, probably the night before I won't sleep, and the night after either haha
