21st Century Breakdown - Your First Listen

It even does a cool trick where if you get the headphone cable into the right position of taking it out of the jack slightly, it cuts the lead vocals and you only hear the instruments and backup vocals!

My iPod kinda does that if I jiggle the headphones around in the jack the right way. Listening to the songs without vocals makes me appreciate them a whole lot more for some reason. I love it

I'll try to stay at home, but I'm not sure I'm going to succeed, since my parents will never ever let me stay home (and unfortunatly both my parents are at home on Friday), and if I act sick, I probably won't be able to go to the record shop right at the moment it's open, and my parents will see I'm not ill at all and I can see them forbidding me to listen....:/

For the rest, I'm going to lock myself up in my room, quit training (fuck you, parents trainer and team, this is more important!), and listen all day. First time without booklet, 2nd probably with. Hopefully I can borrow my parents' CD-player, my own sucks (it's an over 6 years old gettoblaster, used as trampoline by my cat so she can jump on the closet....). I'm going to kill everyone that dares to touch my door, probably will forget to have dinner (oh well, nothing wrong with eating soup and bread in my room, all by myself ). Maybe will go for a walk with it, if it isn't too dark.

At May 15th after school I will go to nearest store buy the cd after I'll go running like a crazy to my home to put the cd in the cd player and listen it over and over again!

But holy fuck, try doing it to the Breakdown demo (which is maybe why it sounded so bad) Billie's harmonies are fucking HIGH, like real high in some parts!

Really? When I lived in Brisbane, no one called them chips - chips was for what we call french fries here. If I wanted a package of chips, I had to ask for a "packet of crisps." Have you all become that Americanized in the 15 years I've been gone?

i'm hoping cos i preordered it it will arrive early, like my twilight did (arrived 2 days before its release ) and then i can dump it on my ipod and harrass everyone with it cos they havent preordered it and wont be able to listen to it for another few days cos they will have to go and buy it on the day its out!!

In my 16 years here (I was born here ) No one has ever called them crips (only english people Ive met), and Ive lived in 2 cities, Cairns and Caloundra (is a shit hole ) and go to Brisbane all the time. You must have been talking to someone from England or has English parents. They've never been called crips here

Well, now that I've heard 90 seconds of Know Your Enemy, my anticipation for my first listen to the whole album is just bursting right out control! This is going to be SO good!!!

I will eat neither chips nor crisps - only quiet food for me - don't want to spoil any softer bits in the music with crunching .

Well, I don't know yet if I need to be at uni or not the 15th.. If I do, then I'll just go straight to the recordstore after I'm finished there. If not, then I'll just go to the recordstore straight away after I woke up and had my morning rituals (shower, breakfast, etc)

It's gonna be awesome, since the new Maxïmo Park is coming out 3 days before 21CB and even though I'm really looking forward to that one too I don't need to have that one right away the first day. So I'm planning to buy that one the 15th too. Probably along with some other albums I've been meaning to get. So it's gonna be a new-cd-buying-fest!

After that I'll go home as fast as I can, and play 21st Century Breakdown in it's entire and just listen to it without doing much else besides maybe eat something. Then play it again and reading lyrics. Then transfer the cd to my laptop so I can put it in my itunes and on my ipod. Then probably listen to it a few more times before I even realize I bought more albums .

Oh, and in the proces I'll probably send my fellow Green Day obsessed friend hyper text messages. Or we'll be hyper on msn.

And when I listened enough to be able to sing along with half of all the choruses, I'll probably check the hyperness on GDC. While listening to Green Day.

That sounds great! I love to shop for books or music and go home with four or five new things at once. It's like having all this wonderfulness that I can work my way through at my own pace.

I guess I might have a day of studying that day, go straight to HMV, buy the CD and then come home and listen to it aaaaaall day and seriously annoy my flatmates by blasting it out very loudly (one of them is a GD fan, the others not so much (sad times for them)).

Then I will plan my summer around the tour dates, once they're out :D
