sutureself Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 you know you've been around a LONG time when the bands people are suggesting have already toured with green day
karma1215 Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 wishful thinking but maybe u2, no doubt, or bikini kill---that would be awesome
Dylan. Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I was not being sarcastic about Green Day/Offspring/Rancid being the most celebrated tour in the history of punk rock. We're talking about the three bands that revived Punk Rock and made it relevant again. Name one more celebrated.
-Bruce Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 wishful thinking but maybe u2, no doubt, or bikini kill---that would be awesome Bikini Kill would be sweet! It would be cool if they went with a punk band on a smaller label.
nimrod-41 Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Sugarcult & Jimmy Eat World for their UK tour! That'd kick so much ass I can also see bands like New Found Glory, Simple Plan, Paramore and My Chemical Romance doing some parts.
Dylan. Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 What about Flogging Molly or ummmmmm, that Aussie band....I can't think of their name, their Oi! though.
Chad is Rad Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I don't mean to sound like a dickhead... BUT... are you all serious mentioning bands like Coheed & Cambria? Paramore? Def Leppard? etc etc..These bands are boring generic-shitty-overplayed-KerrangTV crap.Green Day took Dillinger Four, Bouncing Souls, The Living End, NFG, The Riverdales and loads of other sweet bands on the road before.. So why the fuck would they take Coheed & Cambria ? That wouldn't work. At all. Def Leppard are like in their 60s and past it too.The only sensible bands mentioned in this thread have been great bands like Alkaline Trio, Bouncing Souls, The Living End. Fair play to the people who mentioned those bands because it seems most people on here are stook on planet Kerrang with shitty Elliot Minor and Go: Audio.Seriously though, go check out Dillinger Four, Bouncing Souls, The Living End, Broadway Calls. Just coz they aint plastered on TV and all over magazines doesn't mean they ain't good bands.I'm sure Green Day will bring somebody good, not some fly off the wall overnight trend band.I personally think it'll be Broadway Calls or Bouncing Souls or Living With Lions or The Living End.. Or some sweet small band off Adeline. Gaslight Anthem would work too!Ok so Coheed & Cambria are pretty popular. But SO ARE GREEN DAY.I think that would be a pretty good tour, just so you know.Co & Ca are way underrated, and I think more people should listen to them. And I'm NOT just talking about Welcome Home, people. They are an amazingly talented band.I didn't really like their new CD very much, it wasn't really that great, but the other 3 are works of art.
woven_basketcase Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I'm pretty sure bouncing souls are doing warped tour this year now that i think about it. I was really hoping they'd open for green day Yep, they are. The Gaslight Anthem would be bombbb.
Chad is Rad Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I think Blink 182 would be cool.Everyone likes Blink 182!!I personally can't stand their music. It just pisses me off.I like a few of their songs, but overall I think that their lyrics make no sense, and that they try to be funny WAY too much.
Hermione Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I like a few of their songs, but overall I think that their lyrics make no sense, and that they try to be funny WAY too much. They're even worse when they're trying to be serious, ew.
Mrs. Nobody Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 rancid, rise against, anti-flag.. any of those would make my life
Fauxfink Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 You Me At SixBiffy ClyroWhat the fuck is wrong with you?Anyway...There are rumors that blink will be opening for some Green Day concert, just google it. Anyway it would be depressing it they OPEN for Green Day, I'm pretty sure I'd like to hear more than a few songs for them. I hope they tour TOGETHER. If Jimmy Eat World or Floggin' Molly open again that would be sick. No emo shit please, something to get the blood pumping would be nice, I'm also fine with local bands for the first act as long as there's a follow up.
