So, he could have stumbled but to me it always sounded like he jumped and the bass whacked him on his way down.

It wasn't Billie that fell of, I also thought so at first but it's the interviewer.

During Edgefest '98 Tre kept hurting himself while destroying his drum kit. He was on crutches from hurting his ankle and he threw a cymbal into the air and it came down and hit him in the head, cutting it open.

Then, also in '98, during a festival, Mike ran on stage and bear hugged the bassist from Third Eye Blind, startling the dude, there was a fight, and then backstage someone threw a full beer bottle and hit Mike in the head, fracturing his skull.

Oh, and Tre had a bone fragment removed from his knee and held a haiku poetry contest and gave the fragment to the winner... and Mike had carpal tunnel syndrome in his wrist.

It was the third eye blind bassist who bear hugged mike.

Here Mike hits himself with his own bass, it starts bleeding, it's broken and he looks like Marilyn Manson at 2:15
