Guest FlirtyDutherMucker Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 A Little Piece Of Heaven(Avenged Sevenfold) actually was banned from youtube i think..these shops are pitiful..Nah, I think it's still on their YouTube channel. Could be wrong, though.Wow, WMG have killed everyone's music.I heard they've been doing this on Rock Band/Guitar Hero videos as well, although why they would beats me...
Nele Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 It would be pretty stupid not selling the album.
chickin'pickin' Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Perhaps it's the lyrics about sodomizing dogs that did it.They didn't write a song with such lyrics in it... please say they didn't.That's so fucking 1999, blink182, 24 carat gold, lame.
brownie Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 thats the retailers problem, its their loss.and a little peice of heaven is a fantastic song
farley drexel hatcher Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 They didn't write a song with such lyrics in it... please say they didn't.That's so fucking 1999, blink182, 24 carat gold, lame.Nope, they did, but not for laughs, apparently. I can't remember which new song it's in but that's what they apparently compare religion to.

captain peroxide Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 ^ I concur. I just really hope they're at least being offensive about something worthwhile. You, like, know a little piece of heaven? That's a good song, yo. But yeah I don't understand letting that song be, when it contains numerous references to necrophilia, rape and murder, and taking our boys to task for anything they might have written. Well actually I do understand it, but that's because I'm a logical human being not hopelessly biased towards defense of religion.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/green-...003941697.story"March of the Dogs" finds Green Day at its most structurally complex, weaving numerous short different ideas into a grand final product. Atop vicious riffing, this screed appears to compare religion to "a dog that's been sodomized," and Armstrong also proclaims, "the sirens of decay will infiltrate the faith fanatic.
Haydée Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Nope, they did, but not for laughs, apparently. I can't remember which new song it's in but that's what they apparently compare religion to.March of the Dogs?edit: late ;p
chickin'pickin' Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Well, whatever context it's in, it's lame. The tune will most likely make up for that though.
Nobody_Likes_You Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 a7x are under warner. so most of their vids are off now. (at least i think)I think it was taken down before, but who cares?
Princess Consuela Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I was hoping they used 'sodomized dog' as a methaphore describing 'March of the Dogs', not as the lyrics. That'll be interesting And I can't see how's Green Day offensive comparing to all the shit with much more offensive lyrics you can find in every music store...
cellophaneice Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 This "offensive" nonesense always cracks me up when we have freedom of speech. WTF people. If you don't like it DON'T BUY IT.
The Disappearing Boy Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 no retailler would refuse to sell green day. it would be stupid.plus i can't imagine this cd will be that bad. if green day are rude or offensive, they are subtle about it.
pooldude256 Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Is this really surprising? Our culture has become too PC, and every little thing offends someone, and we have to take everyone's feelings into account....give me a break. One possibility is that if they don't want to deal with this is just find one retailer and give them exclusive sales, ala what AC/DC and GNR did with Wal-Mart and Best Buy, respectively, last year. However, that would undoubtedly lower sales, and they are swinging for the stars on this one apparently. They wanna move 6 million copies at least I'm sure, to say they topped AI.
Haydée Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I was hoping they used 'sodomized dog' as a methaphore describing 'March of the Dogs', not as the lyrics. That'll be interesting that's what I first thought
Katarina. Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 no retailler would refuse to sell green day. it would be stupid.Exactly. They'll lose money if they would xDAlso.. If you don't like an album.. DON'T buy it. It's that simple
Starbug Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I think all this is horse puckey, anyway. I mean, this is just one guys opinion. This hasn't blown up all over the internet yet. And controversy will breed record sales. Eminem anyone? So if I could listen to Eminem and not be too offended, I seriously doubt I will be terribly offended by whatever GD has to offer. They haven't offended me yet. And if they do? I have a skip track button People need to grow the fuck up, pay attention to what their kids are listening to, and let the rest of us ADULTS alone. Besides, this is just one dude's opinion, and hasn't there already been a thread on this?
The Disappearing Boy Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Exactly. They'll lose money if they would xDAlso.. If you don't like an album.. DON'T buy it. It's that simple yes. and also if they didn't sell the album, we would attack them (all 30000 of us.)
Starbug Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Exactly. They'll lose money if they would xDAlso.. If you don't like an album.. DON'T buy it. It's that simple Yes, and money, not morals or ethics or any of THAT trivial crap, makes the world go 'round. The world is full of greedy, greedy bastards.Trust me, when this album hits, everybody will carry it.This is silly. It only takes one person to make a rumor go viral.
iLozza! Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 LAAAAME.It's up to them, and like it's already been said; they'll loose out on profits. Oh well, at least some saane people(like us) aren't scared of a lyric.
Mommy's Little Nightmare Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I think it's all a bunch of bullshit. I doubt anyone is refusing to sell the album. That article and the guy in it seems chocked full of the smelliest degree of shit to me.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 no retailler would refuse to sell green day. it would be stupid.plus i can't imagine this cd will be that bad. if green day are rude or offensive, they are subtle about it.walmart didnt sell American Idiot.
