I think Green Day will be in Europe from around August/September.

well, seeing as i'm in australia i'll speak for what happened here, haha.

uhm, the first time they came here for the AI tour, tickets sold out extremely fast and that was an arena show.

but the second time they came here (which was the last show of the AI tour), tickets were still on sale the day of the show, but this stadium was massive and GA tickets were like, $99 (not sure if that makes a difference), but yeah.

i suppose it just depends on what the venue they play at is like (big or small).

Exactly what I was thinking.

The one date will do, cos I'll be going!

I can't wait for the dates! I'm getting a hefty tax refund and I plan on using most of it on tickets for this tour/travel expenses!

I don't think they've ever sold out here (at least not that I can recall, and I've seen them about 8 times). I've never had any issues getting concert tickets. Can't wait for the tour dates to come out.

I guess Green Day won't hit Europe till september and I guess they'd do a few UK dates first. So I wouldn't worry about them playing here just when you happen to be on summerholidays (that was my first worry when I read they started touring in july). Unless you have a lot of plans that you can't cancel or rescheduel so far away I think it's safe to say you shouldn't worry too much. And if your parents are gonna have a problem with it being on a schoolnight or whatever I'm sure you'll have enough time to convince them to go :)

edit: they also played Holland twice on the last tour (and I know the 2nd show wasn't sold out.. not sure bout the first) so big chance of seeing them

Aside from the actual date I'm quite curious about the venue they'll choose. I hope it won't be the same place I saw them at last time, because I really don't like that venue all that much. Then again, it's the only big venue I've been to so I don't know how good or bad the alternatives would be.

Yeah, but I'm on a camp in Belgium at the end of August (15th till 22nd), so there is a chance...and I really can't cancel it. It's with my friends, and you can't leave there, and my parents will never allow me to not go/leave for a day (I already brought it up, and that really is a no-go.

On a schoolnight isn't the problem. I'll happily skip school that day, and sneak out of the house, fuck the parents. But I think I'm allowed to go, they're starting to see how much it means to me, and hopefully think it's my own responsibility. (:

They played twice? I didn't even know that! (Should have...) Oh that relieves me

Where did they play last time? I keep forgetting it...:/

I thought Ahoy, but I'm not sure, at all. Where did you see them?

Hm, I think the dates will work out just fine for you (us actually cuz I'll be there too :P) :)

Yeah Green Day played here twice in 2005. First time was January 12th at HMH. It was so annoying finding out about that afterwards, because I bought American Idiot and started to become a fan like 2 weeks after that show!! And they played When I Come Around at that show too.. :( Ah well, all was good when they came again July 7th at Ahoy. That's when I saw them and it was amazing. And it was only after that I really became GD obsessed, and regretted not going in january very very much.

There's actually live bootlegs of both concerts in the Audio Download section on GDC. Pretty great, but that could also be because of the memories attached to them for me  (though the hitchin' a ride session at Ahoy beats the biab one by far ;))

I'm kind of hoping GD will play HMH again for this tour cuz that'd be less than 30 mins away from home for me.

If anybody here has attended Green Day shows in Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania), how much did the tickets cost for you? And, more importaintly, how fast did they sell out?

Posted

Shit, I hope I manage to get London tickets... whenever they're released. I'm not going to buy them online, I'm going to call... or both at the same time.. just to make sure I get them.

Can you call or go to like a Ticketmasters retail store? I tried doing it for the Fox Theater show but they said I needed to buy tickets online with a credit card.

I hope so. And otherwise I hope there'll be a German/Belgian date I can go to, I might be allowed to go there.

Aww that sucks :(

Mm, I might download those bootlegs. If I remember (:

I don't really care where they play, as long as they play and I'm there too. There's no big venue really nearby as far as I know. Ahoy is 43 mins, HMH 38, by car according to google maps, so it doesn't really matter.

Its the same where i am, the two biggest venues near me are about an hour away, and there manchester and birmigham, but since i'm in manchester nearly everyday from september so will be close by, buts its guaranteed that they will be on the day i'm not there, cos thats the sort of luck i have, wont stop me from going anyway!

true, the advantage of a small country  It'd be fun for me to cycle to a Green Day concert though.

Yeah

I just hope I can get there by train, dunno if I wanna take a parent with me x)

Only need to find someone to go with me, though...well, I'll see by then. Just going to buy 2 tickets and hope someone will come, otherwise I can always sell it or take a parent anyway.

Same here. What I'm wondering is if there's say 3 different London shows, and I pick one and try to buy tickets for it the second they go on sale, and fail to get them, then will I have blown my chances of getting tickets for the other two shows as well? Surely in the time I'd wasted on a show that sold out too quickly for me to get them, the others would sell out too?

I dunno, I just know nothing about the best way to go about getting tickets or the ticket buying process in general :/. So to hear that people who DO know have had trouble getting them in the past really worries me.
