farley drexel hatcher Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Ok, so I bought plane tickets 2 days ago for New York so I can go stay with my friend for a few weeks in april.I've been having nightmares about what would happen if green day decided to play a secret show in California while I'm in NY and it's making me not want to go to the east coast, but then I would feel SO retarded if they didn't actually play and I never got to see my friend. Advice please.I'd say just go for it and don't worry about shows. It might suck a bit if they were to play, but chances are they won't and even if they do, you'll still get to see them when they tour in the summer. Plus you'll waste the money on your plane tickets and miss out on seeing your friend.
Anja Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 I can't get a full refund for my tickets which majorly sucks but I think i'm just going to keep them until I hear any news about shows. The thing that sucks if i'm stuck in new york when they announce something. I'll only be in NY for 2 1/2 weeks but it's still really scary..I don´t think they announce tour dates 2 weeks before a show. So don´t worry and enjoy your trip to NYC and meeting your friend.
Eirik Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 ^She's talking about a secret show, as far as I've gathered at least.
Guest LusciousZ Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Just go to NY and stop being such a teenage girl Well sir. i only have 2 months left of being a teenage girl and i'm going to make the most of it.^She's talking about a secret show, as far as I've gathered at least. Yeah.At least that's what they did for AI.

Fuzz Posted February 16, 2009 Author Posted February 16, 2009 Andres-do you have any idea wht kind of tickets the IC presale tickets are going to be? i.e. floor or seats?sorry if this has already been asked.I asked about the tickets, they haven't even confirmed that there will be pre-sales in the Idiot Club. They told me they'd give more information when they get closer to having the tour details finalized.

Guest LusciousZ Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 they didn't have IC presales on the AI tour, did they? I got presales and I've never been a member...Now I'm extra paranoid.

Guest LusciousZ Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 crap where did you get presale's from? The internetz..Once they announced the dates for the tour I startd to check gd.com religiously for updates on when they were going to go on sale and they finally announced a presale for my show a day before they actually went on sale.so i was prepared for it.
JellyCollin Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 I just joined the IC, hope it'll lead to something good
Boston Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I'm defiantly not missing the tour this time around. I don't care how much I have to pay or where I have to go within New England - I'm going to be there.
Guest LusciousZ Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 is the ic worth the cash then? Not worth my cash. And I plan on going to a fuckload of shows. Unless you're extra paranoid about it I wouldn't join.

farley drexel hatcher Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Do you think they'll do the odd presale for non IC members, seeing as how they did on the AI tour? (I know the IC wasn't open then but still, it couldn't hurt)
Guest LusciousZ Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 hahaa, I think I'd fall under the extra paranoid category So did you get presale tickets through ticketmaster or whatever?Yeah it was through ticketmaster and according to my tickets I got the 16th, 17th and 18th ones that were sold. And that was the SECOND that they went on sale. So whether you're in the IC or not you have to be pretty quick. It's kind of scary.Do you think they'll do the odd presale for non IC members, seeing as how they did on the AI tour? (I know the IC wasn't open then but still, it couldn't hurt)I don't know. that's what scares the hell out of me. I hope they don't have IC presales only. Are you a member?
Hayley Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Hair. DOES NOT TASTE GOOD.Neither do dreadlocks in the eye

I hope they don't have IC presales only. Are you a member?Nah i'm not, I really can't be either. I hadn't even thought about it before, I just wondered. I was just planning on being online when the tickets went on sale ... i'm hoping it's not going to be as hard as everyone is thinking. I am worried about not getting tickets though, but the odds of not getting tickets to any of their UK shows is a bit steep ... i'll travel if I have to XD
Anja Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I´m not only scared about whether I get a ticket but also about whether I can go to this show after I bought a ticket. It scares me to death not to know where I am in May, or June or whenever.
Fuzz Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 Don't be worried about getting tickets. We're among the first to know these details, and I never had a problem getting tickets, so long as i was ready for them the day they came out (and they didn't surprise us and just magically let them go on sale one day, there were weeks of notice when they'd go up). If they do a pre-sale for idiot club members, it's a very very small portion of the tickets they'll sell - and I'd say about 90% of the tickets will be available after a pre-sale. That's not to say they won't go fast - just be prepared to purchase them the day they go on sale (if you're buying online, get ready to buy them when they immediately go up). And even after that, some venues during AI didn't sell them all in order to sell at the actual box-office. I don't think it's worth joining the Idiot Club just for the hope there will be a pre-sale. The shows won't start till July, and I'm sure we'll find out with plenty of time before then where the tickets will be available. I'd wait to see if the Idiot Club is actually going to do anything special (get some exclusive videos or something again) before subscribing. As it is now, 100% not worth the trouble unless you've been a member before and enjoy the community there.
just.a.myth. Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 ^Thanks so much for that, Andres. My paranoia decreased......a little bit. lolI'm afraid I'm not going to have the money for a show.
Anja Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Did they sell out every show on their AI tour actually or were they still some tix available at the box office? Just wondering.
