I love to be in the pit so I can get as close to the band as possible, But I'm short, and I always seem to end up behind girls with really long and frizzy hair. Well you can do the math.

Hair. DOES NOT TASTE GOOD.

I concur. At a Foxboro show I nearly choked on some dudes nasty hair. He looked like Jesus

Haha yes I'll try. I'm just scared that I'll have a test on the same day as the concert. -_-"

^Wow, I would be so pissed at myself. Or my mom. Or the radio station.

I still kind of hold it against her, tbh.

But, by some great amazing miracle, Aerosmith (tied with Green Day for 'fav band E.V.E.R.) decided to come to Ottawa November that year. First time in 14 years (my parents had gone to their last show in Ottawa)! And she bought me and my cousin tickets. So that made up for it...I guess.

I do still hold a grudge against her though.

And it was so heartbreaking hearing the winner's voices on the radio after a call in, when I wanted it so much more than them

ok, so, I'm not very familiar with big arenas' mosh pit tickets prices.

the only mosh pits I've ever been in were at some local bands and small clubs.

like how much does a mosh pit ticket costs? and what would be a good estimate for a green day's concert mosh pit?

Hahaha! Ok you were definitely worse off than me.

Whoa, i'd be so pissed.

That kind of got me thinking.

They most likely won't be coming to London, Ontario.

So i'm going to have to go to Toronto.... and Toronto is the worst for shows.. ever.

If you have to go to T-Dot, we're so meeting up.

I'm heading to their inevitable show there no matter what.

Depends on the band.

General Admin I would say is anywhere between 40-60...Canadian

yeah, I know that,

so the mosh pit ticket would be like what? 100?

I can´t imagine myself at a Green Day Show, to be honest. I would not know what to do when they come on stage and all of a sudden - there they are! The Band that changed my life! That´s so weird. And it´s the reason why I actually hope to miss chances to see them cause I want them to be untouchable for me. Do I sound strange? :o Never mind!

I really like the idea though to travel around with people who are just as passionate and devoted as you are. I think sharing the same love and experience would make me feel better during a show.

Good.

I feel the same way! I'm actually a bit scared of seeing them live. I actually think I'll faint or start crying or something. :S

It's not great feeling when you have anxiety problems. I don't like people touching me and I don't like crowded rooms. Yet, I love concerts.

Try having epilepsy! I sometimes pass out in random situations and when I'm anxious or over-excited, so it's alwayys an adventure. Luckily I don't give a shit if people look at me like i'm crazy.

I can see where you're coming from though. A lot of people I know get really panicky and anxious about being in crowds.

If Green Day come to Australia I would definitely make an effort to get a general admissions ticket, but not sure how.

Never got one before, I've always had a seat at concerts. The enterntainment center here is massive so it's a bit difficult.

I know I WOULD cry. Can´t tell if it´s tears of joy then or something else =)

Is it common in your language to say "mosh pit ticket"? That just sounds so strange to me sry

I always got a general admission ticket but then on the ticket it had a seat number on it for a reason I don´t get  Of course, I didn´t care about it and went down to the floor anyway.

It's a bit of a story, but this is what happened.

So it's June grade 11, Green Day had just put out AI a little over half a year previous. I'm not TOTALLY feeling the band in the way I once had. My mom comes to me and says 'Green Day is coming to Ottawa. I'll buy you and a friend tickets if you'd like'. Me, being a total stupid complete fucking IDIOT said no.

Summer passes, and I had a re-falling-in-love-with in that time. A couple weeks before the show I start begging my mom for tickets, and she says no because she offered them to me once. I didn't have the funds for my own, so I keep literally begging up until the day of the show.

Sept. 5th was the last day of summer vacation. I started grade 12 the next day. A radio station in Ottawa has a contest going all day for people to call in once every hour, from 10am to 6pm, for a chance to win two tickets to the show. I wake up at 9, shower, then spend literally all fucking day from 10am to 6pm calling into the radio station. I got through 3 times. Once, they never picked up. Twice, I hung up when it started to ring because I was so used to just redialing then hanging up on the busy signal. Third, I was caller #2 when you had to be #9. Yeah, I spent all of my last day of summer vacation on a phone.

So I missed the show. They were 20 minutes away from me, and I fucking missed it. The whole two+ hours they were on, I spent in my room crying my eyes out because I was so upset. Then, to rub it in, the next day when I went to school practically EVERY kid was wearing a Green Day shirt and talking about how amazing the concert was.

The kicker? I only needed $7 to buy a ticket and my mom wouldn't lend it to me. And, like I said, it was their first show in Ottawa since the Nimrod tour.

So yeah, I have plenty reason to go all out this tour. No way am I going through that hell again.

Oh Jaymee, that sucks :( I read that and felt your pain. Never been through that, but I went through agony until about 48 hrs before the FHT show before I knew I was going, ten hours before I flew out  But I got to go. It would've destroyed me if I hadn't. GO ALL OUT! :D

Good.

I understand what you mean, kinda  My first GD concert was the best night of my life, and the day leading up to the show it was just electric for me. I was so excited, and afraid I'd be disappointed. But I wasn't. The place went dark, and the adrenaline went up. When that "Duuuuun duuuun duuuuuuun! Duuu duuuuuun!" music started (Seen BIAB? Ya know, the music that came on before they came out :) ) started, I knew "Here they come here they come heretheycomeheretheycome HOLY SHIT THERE THEY ARE!!!!" And I went ape. Shit  Suddenly I was no longer 25. I was 12, screaming my head off and having the time of my life. It's truly, truly surreal and I look forward to reading your account of your first concert  It's the experience of a lifetime.

You'll just scream your fool head off like I did, I bet

Aww, I can imagine how surreal that must have been for you. And that´s how I imagine myself. Being like a 12-year old, screaming, freaking out and to have no regards for anyone  Just being into the moment and ignoring what´s going on around you. I can´t wait for my first account either  If I´ll remember that after the show :D

Oooh, believe me. You'll remember :D It's been 4 years nearly for me, and I still remember getting goosebumps when they played 'She' and screaming til I ran out of breath when I recognized 'Longview' w/ the first bass note

 Wow. I guess it will take me like forever until I recognize a song cause I will be in other spheres. That happened to me on other shows actually. I was just singin along the words without even noticing what I was singing. And then it was hard to remember the setlist because I was so pumped and the whole evening was kinda surreal.

You´re the craziest of all though but I love it

I own it, too. I am completely unashamed by my actions at a Green Day/FHT concert. It's not my fault that most people aren't capable of knowing that kind of joy

Yeah, I would rather not be, too. It's one thing to be in the middle of a stinky crowd. It's something else entirely getting shoved around and trod on.
