Juan Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Is he still? I thought he would get banned  @american-rebel: yes, I noticed that. You mean the thing where you can adjust the clock time? Why would Andres get banned, he's the Admin
Jaymee!! Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 im completely :off: but, um did anyone notice that there's a clock type thing all the way in the bottom right corner? Fail. That so had nothing to do with anything. On a much more related topic, I plan on meeting some of you this touring season. If I had the funds and the time for it, I would follow Green Day to almost every show.
Anja Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Why would Andres get banned, he's the Adminthat was ironyDoes that one look better?
badwolf Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 yes@american-rebel: yes, I noticed that. You mean the thing where you can adjust the clock time?ok. i noticed it yesterday. im not so observant Fail.hows that a fail? i said it was completely off topic.
Starbug Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 that's fucking awesomeDoes that mean I get my shirt?About the GDC, I think on the front it should have the GDC logo and the slogan on the backI think that would own so hard. I WANT A SHIRT! We need to make this happen...Fail.That so had nothing to do with anything. On a much more related topic, I plan on meeting some of you this touring season. If I had the funds and the time for it, I would follow Green Day to almost every show.I would, too. I would be a non-trashy GD groupie They'd start recognizing me That would be so freakin awesome. To travel all over the place, and follow my favorite band on earth, and meet all the GDCers along the way. Yes. I wish I was rich.
Nimrod99 Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 I like getting seats at the Green Day concert tbh. I only sit through the opening act (unless they're good or unless everyone else is standing up). I'm very claustrophobic, so the idea of being in mosh pit or right up front doesn't go for me. I did that once, and I will NEVER do that again.

So I moved over to the side more, where I could get out easier if need be, and I was MUCH better. Just knowing I could exit quickly was a comfort. And the view wasn't bad Mike Dirnt, sweaty and beeeyooooteeeful! Though if I'd stayed where I was for one more song, I could've touched Billie Joe's butt. Alas, twas not meant to be But I totally get what you mean That would be the life.I must win the lotto...Amen to that
Blu Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 im completely :off: but, um did anyone notice that there's a clock type thing all the way in the bottom right corner?I just said to behave and be on-topic. You are really pushing my buttons. Just becuse you say it's off-topic doesn't make it okay.
Anja Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Amen to that Another Amen to that Let´s all play lotto!I think that would own so hard. I WANT A SHIRT! We need to make this happen...Then let´s make it happen! Isn´t this whole discussion about the shirts off-topic, either?! I´m just wondering. Don´t wanna get warned Maybe we should open an extra thread for this?!

Alas, twas not meant to be But I totally get what you mean Amen to that I was in the front row at one show in 1997 in a smaller club. I can't do that again. The air was horrible and I could barely breathe, I had to get out of there. It was an amazing concert don't get me wrong (billie wearing and threatening to keep my jacket was something I'll never forget), but I just can't do anything like that again. Besides, I like to be able to see the band, and sometimes when you're on the floor that just doesn't happen. I prefer the seats that are closest to the stage.
Jaymee!! Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 I've actually never been in a pit, I've always only managed seats. I got really close though at the Foo Fighter's concert last March. There's nothing stopping me from camping out outside the venue though, to ensure my closeness to the stage. No fucking way I'm wasting a concert getting beaten up by a bunch of cracked out pot heads. Probably won't even pay attention to the people I go with. It'll just be me, my camera, and batteries to give life to said camera. Oh and the band of course.
Juan Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 You people are so bubbly and passionate about Green Day, I love that!I think I'm like that myself, except I may not follow Green Day around
Jaymee!! Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 You people are so bubbly and passionate about Green Day, I love that!I think I'm like that myself, except I may not follow Green Day aroundI have every reason to be.Sept. 5th 2005, their first show in Ottawa since 97, is in the top 3 worst days of my life list
Blu Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Isn´t this whole discussion about the shirts off-topic, either?! I´m just wondering. Don´t wanna get warned You are fine because the conversation about the shirts relates to attending the concerts.
Guest LusciousZ Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Does that one look better? HahahaHAahahHAaaha Yes please!!!!I don't understand people who would rather sit at a show and not move.i luvvvv being surrounded by a bunch of smelly sweaty people screaming and just completely losing my damn mind. To me it's the best feeling ever.
Nimrod99 Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 You people are so bubbly and passionate about Green Day, I love that!I think I'm like that myself, except I may not follow Green Day aroundHah, thanks. I always see GD when they come in my area. It'd be awesome to follow them around, but that itsn't going to happen. The majority of my money goes to my horse, and as much as I enjoy going to GD shows, my horse means more to me.
Anja Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 I can´t imagine myself at a Green Day Show, to be honest. I would not know what to do when they come on stage and all of a sudden - there they are! The Band that changed my life! That´s so weird. And it´s the reason why I actually hope to miss chances to see them cause I want them to be untouchable for me. Do I sound strange? Never mind!I really like the idea though to travel around with people who are just as passionate and devoted as you are. I think sharing the same love and experience would make me feel better during a show. You are fine because the conversation about the shirts relates to attending the concerts.Good.

To me it's the best feeling ever. It's not great feeling when you have anxiety problems. I don't like people touching me and I don't like crowded rooms. Yet, I love concerts.

To me it's the best feeling ever.I can't do it because I'm so claustrophobic. I don't sit down when GD is on. The majority of the people are usually standing up infront of the seats having a great time singing and moving around as well.
Jaymee!! Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Y?It's a bit of a story, but this is what happened. So it's June grade 11, Green Day had just put out AI a little over half a year previous. I'm not TOTALLY feeling the band in the way I once had. My mom comes to me and says 'Green Day is coming to Ottawa. I'll buy you and a friend tickets if you'd like'. Me, being a total stupid complete fucking IDIOT said no.Summer passes, and I had a re-falling-in-love-with in that time. A couple weeks before the show I start begging my mom for tickets, and she says no because she offered them to me once. I didn't have the funds for my own, so I keep literally begging up until the day of the show.Sept. 5th was the last day of summer vacation. I started grade 12 the next day. A radio station in Ottawa has a contest going all day for people to call in once every hour, from 10am to 6pm, for a chance to win two tickets to the show. I wake up at 9, shower, then spend literally all fucking day from 10am to 6pm calling into the radio station. I got through 3 times. Once, they never picked up. Twice, I hung up when it started to ring because I was so used to just redialing then hanging up on the busy signal. Third, I was caller #2 when you had to be #9. Yeah, I spent all of my last day of summer vacation on a phone. So I missed the show. They were 20 minutes away from me, and I fucking missed it. The whole two+ hours they were on, I spent in my room crying my eyes out because I was so upset. Then, to rub it in, the next day when I went to school practically EVERY kid was wearing a Green Day shirt and talking about how amazing the concert was.The kicker? I only needed $7 to buy a ticket and my mom wouldn't lend it to me. And, like I said, it was their first show in Ottawa since the Nimrod tour.So yeah, I have plenty reason to go all out this tour. No way am I going through that hell again.
Anja Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 ^Wow, I would be so pissed at myself. Or my mom. Or the radio station.
