the newspaper that says "3 albums for Green Day", that pic wasnt up on the site lastnight.... thats what i am talking about

they have been up since the site changed a while back, there is a thread about is somewhere. Thought the screen that comes up when you go to greenday.com wasn't there last night, the one with the album cover and "coming may 2009" and enter site below.

Fuck that. It's an original song, and it'll be better than any other song of that title! :D

I contacted him and he said:

Hi,

About the Kerrang citation, it was an on-line interview it seems, questions were made by fans a the magazine sent them to him who only talked about the sound of the album and it's message, he didn't talk about the tracks.

The tracklist was a friend of mine who tipped me, the 3 new tracks have not been oficially confirmed. ;)

I don't usually post my fonts. I've hit my head a few times in the past becasue of that.

Never heard so much bullshit!

My reply:

But without posting your fonts the news has no credibility, you had the chance to be mentioned on the biggest green day fan site, but since this has not been confirmed anywhere(not even by people who has contact with their manager) there's no way for this to be posted.

thanks

So all the "Death Of A Nation" debate might have been based on bullshit...

Yeah i've just looked in Kerrang and it's nothing new, no new song titles or anything. So we can safely assume the song titles mentioned are just more rumours.

Disappointing but not surprising given the source. I've got my hopes pinned on the Rolling Stone article next week, since they specifically stated they went to the studio and interviewed Green Day. Maybe some of the information will be stuff we already know, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are more song titles now and new photographs ... also an update on progress. Yeah, that's what I'm excited about.

horseshoes and hand grenades is also what Tre's new tattoo is of... woop. I can't be arsed to look through and see if anyone else has said that, too.

Well I'm talking to the other guy from that website, he's not a dickhead like the first one i talked too, let's see if he tells me where it's from.

The Living Dead is actually a good title for the song, although no one wil beat Anti-Flag's Death of a Nation. what's up with Green Day stealing other songs' titles. for instance, March of the Dogs is actually a Nine Inch Nails song. 21st Century Breakdown is too reminscent of the Bad Religion song, which is 21st Century something. that song sucks, so it can't get any worse.

21st Century Digital Boy, I disagree on the suck "thing" but there are a shitload of opinions, so hey...

Also, the song titles haven't been confirmed (at least on The Living Dead and Death of a nation)

Actually it wouldn't be the first time. Billie Joe steals a lot of music, or as muscisians call it...inspired. It happens to every artist. It is almost impossible to write a song without borrowing from another song. I guess you always have a song in the back of your head as you write a new one. In the end, there are only so many chords and melodies. Take the song Warning for example and Kinks song Picture Book. There was also a good example of how similar all the tracks on American Idiot was to another record. No one could deny where the inspiration came from. In the same way Offspring, with their latest album, was obviously inspired by American Idiot. It's nothing to get too upset about. Anyway...

Regarding the tracks "The Living Dead" and "Death of a Nation", it is all bullshit. I got my sources so you can throw those titles away. I can promise you that. You always have to be critical of a page like Wikipedia.

Aww I went down to the newsagent to have have a look yesterday as well, most disappointing.

The new titles from Rolling Stone have more than made up for it though

I know I am being a bit paranoid here, but Green Day might not only find inspiration from publicly known bands: http://www.greendaycommunity.org/Forum/ind...showtopic=66054

Daniel Soxic of Soxic Music released his song "Death of a Nation" in May 2008 and before anyone say's, well there's not a chance in hell they have heard his song, everyone should know that he is the person behind the "Green Day Hoax" incident. I don't know if they have any personal contact or if they know each other in any way but I don't think so. As far as I know this guy lives in Sweden. I hope no one is offended by this, because I know some will react with anger, but all I am saying is that anything is possible. Stranger things have happened. The title itself isn't the most original, I agree, but if the song also sounds anything like Daniels I will be very surprised.

You were right actually. Someone was spreading false rumours. Daniel Soxic had just released a track called "Death of a Nation" and the working title for a song called "Stuck" on his new album was in fact "The Living Dead", a title also mentioned in this thread. I don't know who would want to do that and why. Why Daniel of all artists? Maybe because of the Green Day hoax incident many years ago. But that is a long shot. I don't think Daniel even wants to be associated with Green Day because I read somewhere that he was getting sick of people constatly comparing his music to Green Day. http://soxicmusic.com/

Funny thread looking back on it now.
