djrossstar Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 That's right. I did. Panic Song would be THE greatest opening song, but it will never happen. After seeing all those Pinhead Gunpowder shows and Foxboro Hot Tubs shows in 2008, it's gonna be a bit sad for me to have to go back to watching them play the 'hits' to 1000000's of people at once. The interaction just isn't the same.DJ Rossstar

I agree man, Panic Song as an opener would be spectacular. and while I agree with you after Pinhead and Foxboro, I will admit, when Green Day plays to thousands you still feel like they are playing to you. If that makes sense. They still make it seem personal.
djrossstar Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 They do the best they can, but those Pinhead shows, standing two inches away from Billie Joe while he plays on a non-existent stage in San Pedro, or watching them bring up hundreds of people to dance during the Foxboro Hot Tubs shows, it was all just so fantastic. The first Green Day show announced in LA will be my 34th time seeing them ... and it never gets old!DJ
**nobodylikesyou** Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 ^definitely not the same as being right there, that was a chance of a lifetime. Those shows were. Seeing him (and Mike) inside Gilman is something I will never forget. and yeah, it never does get old.

Rob Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Well, they told Andres for sure that they were presenting an award (although they don't know which one yet), AND there would be a surprise. So it has to be something. Even if it's just "Our record comes out on blah, blah blah". I could really give a shit less if they gave us the title at that point. Just a release date and I'd be satisfied. I just think it'd be a tad bit foolish to do nothing at all but present. Magazines are publishing them as one of the biggest returning acts in 2009, everybody knows they're releasing an album at one point or another this year. Why not take advantage of it, and use the biggest night in mainstream music to promote themselves, even just a little!?!?Not to mention that their manager said the release date would be released "very soon". I just don't see a better time to release it, if the album is due sometime in May. I just don't...
Fuzz Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 I really could care less about intimate venues or large ones. I've never felt like I was missing something from the large events, I actually quite enjoy them. The small venues are fun, but I don't think they're better or worse.
jose armstrong Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 a surprise?OKnow I'm really more than excited.
The Disappearing Boy Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 what are the chances that when they release the title, they won't announce the release date?quite small i imagine. when we hear one, we'll hear the other. I also highly doubt they'll play a new song, especially when the song name, nor the album name nor its release date have been announced, so i think we can rule out a live performance.i bet it'll be the title/release date.of course it could just be a 'oh by the way, in case you didn't know, we're recording a new album which will be out this year. we reckon it'll be pretty good'.Now that would be disappointing.
Ally Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 a surprise?OKnow I'm really more than excited.ye me too, guess i will just have to watch it on itv2 on monday night, since its not shown here on sunday.

They put on a great show either way.
Rob Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Every Green Day fan and their Mothers know that GD are releasing an album this year. It has to be something a little bigger than that.
NoVaCaInE! Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 You're making me jealous!!!!Havent you noticed that's his aim? Every single one of his posts is boasting so i think that speaks for itself
