A tour is more successful when attention is on a band. And tickets are going to sell. There are enough people on this site alone who would sell one of their kidneys to go see a Green Day show.I think this is about the dollar dropping so much in Australia in the last three months, what they would have to charge would be much more costly than usual.

But I am sure the record company remembers their shows didnt sell out when they closed the tour in 2005. Honestly tho they are prolly just biding their time to wait and see what happens.

It'd cost a whole lot to get an entire entourage over there. Although the tickets thing makes sense too.I still don't think this is anything to worry about, not yet at least.

Fuzz Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Not sure how much i really invest in this. Last i heard (from their manager) was that the band wasn't ready to be talking about the tour. Sure American Idiot came out in September and they started touring shortly after, but without any sort of official announcement I don't see how the author of that has any concrete details. As far as we know they are still recording, or finishing up the album. I don't think they had talked about or given any hints about when or where the dates for the AI tour would be at that point in the recording process. Much less having to plan any sort of scaling back.

I am worried that they will scrap Australia completely, even when the tour is in full swing and not consider us here whatsoever, no matter how much money the tour is making or even if the world economy improves!I missed the 16th December show here in Sydney and I still well up with tears remembering what I missed, so to read that again I won't see Green Day saddens me greatly
