Chelsea Hotel Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 My dad still thinks Mike sounds like he does when he sings "Maps" all the time.
kazoo Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 i actually watched it with my parents when the abridged version was on TV....there was ALOT of silent parts [silence is the new bleeping, apperently...]but i mean, they didnt say anything. i blast 'innapropriate music for a 14 year old' on my speakers and i mean, my mom came in my room at one point while i was listening to The Death of St. Jimmy and she walks in RIGHT on 'he says we're fucked up and we're not the same, and mom and dad are the ones you can blame..'amazing xD
heartscollide Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I don't think my parents have actually watched the whole thing, but they approve. And they listen to the audio on their iPods etc, etc, etc.
Guest Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 my dad thinks it's hilarious, especially when Billie introduces himself as Bush, then again he came to the show with me and now wanders around shouting "you, get your ass up here!"
Guest Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 my mom thinks it bullshit (sorry for the language) because of the way the band acts (which is totall crap to me cuz she doesnt know REAL music she know cRAPPERS and Shit hop and Really Nasty Boring ) and my dad doesnt care only as long as i dont mastrubate.

I started listening to Green Day when I was twelve, and I suppose that was my first album with "explicit language". I think my mom may have been a bit weary of it at first, but it's not like just because I listen to it means I go around cursing all the time. And even when Billie curses in songs, it's often to strengthen or draw attention to what he's saying. And at concerts - I wasn't paying any attention to my parents, so who knows what they thought of the language. They know the guys put on a kick ass concert, so I doubt they care about the language.
-Billiejoezee- Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 they like everything that I showed them. Not so sure about hitchin a ride though....
bjrules Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 My mum thinks Green Day are great, so I have no worries about watching it in front of her Dad doesn't mind Green Day but I usually just skip the more awkward bits when I'm watching it around him My mum was very impressed with how there were 65000 people there. She was like "Wowwww 650000??" haha. Good thing about my parents is that they don't give a shit about swearing or anything, my mum always sings along to the line "The subliminal mind fuck america" whenever I have American Idiot on in the car My mum doesn't really care what music I listen too, but if they don't like it they just make me listen to it on my ipod, but luckily they are very supportive of my love for Green Day!
biancajoe Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 hahaha my dad loved it, and thoughtt they are great entertainers as well as musicianand mum made me burn a copy of the cd for the carso my original doeasnt get scratched secretly, mum lurrrrrrrrrrrrrvesgreen dayalthough she wont admit it (N)
whatsmyname_jimmy Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 My dad only saw bits but most of his comments were:"Thats a lot of people""Is that his arse""Is he wearing eyeliner""He can sure get a crowd going""The drummer snorts doghnut sprinkls... their weird.. just like you ^_^""..... WTF is he doin to that cameraa!! :O"
Punx89 Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 They haven't seen it, I don't plan to show this to them, but my brother saw that and told me "what is this man?" I started to laugh a lot!!!!!
belindatest Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 He did a scaled down version of the masturbation bit at the Adelaide show last Sunday. My dad was next to me, and not once did I risk making eye-contact =DAs for BIAB, I always fast-forward through that part, but I usually watch DVDs on my laptop, anyway, so most of the time I don't have to worry about it.

frankiessister Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 In my case I am the parent. My daughter got BIAB as a present for her 13th birthday and we watched it together with my then 10-year- old son.Watching BIAB was what finally turned me into an obsessive Green Day fan. And the three of us laughed our asses off at Billie's stage antics. I never thought there was anything obscene about it, like something that kids are not supposed to watch; it's just a lot of fun and awesome showmanship. And I certainly never minded the swearwords; people here in Spain are really relaxed in that sense, and nothing here ever gets censored.
Miss Hedgie Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 I watched it a few days ago and my mum came into my room , looked at the tv and was like:"how many people were there?""About 65.000 I think""How many people are going to the Wembley show?""about 80.000 or so. I don't really know""But it's gonna be even bigger than the concert on this DVD?""uhm, yes.""OH MY GOD YOU WILL DIE!"Hahah exactly my parents reaction when I wanted to go to any gig.
Opezi Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 um my dad, likes it. but during hitchin a ride he laughed my grandpa watched the are we the waiting part and he thought they were british
parinaz Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 my parents have never watched masturbation part, all by chance.

I used to listen to Ska-P before Green Day. That's a spanish band that swears a lot, so my mom doesn't mind Billie's language at all... In fact, I doubt that she knows what faggot, nigger, etc. means xDMy dad only saw bits but most of his comments were:"Thats a lot of people""Is that his arse""Is he wearing eyeliner""He can sure get a crowd going""The drummer snorts doghnut sprinkls... their weird.. just like you ^_^""..... WTF is he doin to that cameraa!! :O"LOL! I totally picture him (being him a man with no face xd) at the rocky part xD
E!!i Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 What should they think about it? They haven't ever seen it.
ria Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Lucky for my son I am the parent & I say "CRANK IT UP!"
Liam Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 my dad loves the dvd and hes loves in any more because its in england because he was born in england
burnout_13 Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 My mum loves it, mainly because she was there when it was filmed
fainiel Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 I tend to keep my parents well away from my music. They're in completely seperate spheres and never the twain shall meet Unless BIAB gets shown on TV or something there's not much chance of them seeing it. The first time my mum saw GD on the TV on something when AI came out her main reaction was, 'they're American?!' and 'look at all those tattoos!'
Guest Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Everytime I watch BIAB my Mum always has to walk in during HAR and all the ''unnapropriate bits'' she doesn't say much just ''hmpf...Charming..'' or ''Laura, why can't you listen to normal music like....Take That?''
