One of my favorite song's off of my favorite album. A great choice. It is a catchy song that every time I hear it I find myself singing along to it all day long.

Great song, i really love the opening, one of my first favorite songs by Green Day, it just struck me. Back when i didn't know the lyrics the chorus repeated itself over and over and over in my head for like a week :D

One of my favourite songs! And a cool performance

I never noticed before that the bass-line was so awesome!

Blessed with Budweiser

A friend of mine always listens to Warning in her car and when she picks me up this song is always playing, for some reason. I love ittt :D

When I hear Castaway, it makes me want to get up and start swing dancing or something. I like how the lyrics are so positive and the music is so crisp and bouncy.

Again, Hermione, again! You read my mind (or I guess I could say, we read Billie's mind).

Something you may not know about me is that I can perform all the Green Day songs, all the FoxTubs songs, and a lot of the PHGP songs (well - and lots of other songs, too) in sign language. Whenever I'm practicing this one - if I happen to be alone - I will sometimes substitute the sign for "male-masturbation" instead of the signs for "I go-on alone." That's just for my own amusement :)

Back to this song - I love it when he does the awesome voice on "takin' back what's mine!"

 THAT is a brilliant idea. And it's so cool that you can do the songs in sign language - useful and entertaining!

Oh and I love the way he snarls that bit too.

Castaway is easily the best song off Warning.

Yay, good one.

:D

Such a good song.

I had it on repeat for 2 weeks once. Now I don't listen to it a lot but its still good.

Definitely my favorite song off of Warning. Warning is a good album in general, along with pretty much every other Green Day album. My favorite band. Castaway is in my top 10 favorites by Green Day.

Good Choice  Easily the best song off of Warning.

I live for the day when the GDA has a contest for best sign language performance of a song :D (doesn't matter whether it's Green Day, PHGP, Network, FBHT, or some new incarnation of any or all of our boys). I love signing the songs so much (I started doing them for my daughter, who is deaf, and she now LOVES FBHT - she and her boyfriend went to the Little Rock show with me and my son - when the music started, their faces just LIT up - they had never been exposed to such loud music, and it was as if it was being done just for them  ).

Figuring out how to express all those hidden meanings in sign language really gets me into the deeper concepts that are woven throughout this music I love so much - because in ASL (American Sign Language), it's not correct to just sign each word - the way to do it right is to sign conceptually, and that means that a lot of thought has to put into what the words really mean.

In Castaway, most of the lines are quite straightforward to sign and mean just what they say, with the one exception that you've already pointed out (although, I think that's just our dirty minds working overtime, really). But, in She's a Rebel, for example, "she's the salt of the earth" would not make sense if signed <she's salt on earth>, so I sign, "she works hard - <takes-care-of> earth" which (truly) makes more sense in sign language.

Okay, I could discuss this subject all night long, but this post is long enough now - I'll stop.

This was the favorite song ever of an old friend I once hung out with. I like it, but I don't think it's exceptionally great.

I use to listen to this song like all day. Its still my favorite.

Love the intro. Love the song. :D

The more and more I listen to Warning (I am right now :D) The more I see it is an underrated masterpiece. It just fuckin' rocks. Its so weird, and weird isnt always a bad thing.

Castaway is defiantly one of the best on the album.

Does anyone know about Green Day doing a tour in Australia when Warning was released??? That vid was a Channel V one done in Sydney!

Castaway+Misery=Heaven

One of those Green Day songs that sounds so much better live than on the album.

It was never one of my favourites until I heard the live versions, and Goat Island is one of the best, but Mike's bass sounds so awesome here that I really love it now.
